Has anyone done any testing on this weapon? My main two questions are

1) How much of an increase to raid DPS does this generally give per caster?

2) Do attack haste increases yield more procs (should I enchant my gloves, helm, and legs with 1% haste)?

Thanks.

there was a thread about this a few weeks ago, though the first question you asked is highly subjective.

As for the second question: haste increases such as minor attack speed, libram of rapidity, flurry, or seal of the crusader all increase attack speed without changing the proc chance per swing.

Sorry for bumping this thread but

As for the second question: haste increases such as minor attack speed, libram of rapidity, flurry, or seal of the crusader all increase attack speed without changing the proc chance per swing.
how would that work? Does it dynamically adjust the procrate to the swingspeed?

Well, no. From what that says, if a certain item has a 5% chance to proc per swing, it will still have a 5% chance to proc per swing after applying the haste effect -- you'll just be hitting more often, which in turn means a higher PPM.

Ah, fuck, I'm such an idiot. I thought he meant that speed increases wont even increase the PPM.

I believe the PPM is based on the base weapon speed and is not adjusted by anything else - so if you get a buff that makes you swing a weapon with a base average PPM of 5 that weapon will proc more often

Well really the PPM rate should only be used to describe effects that aren't attached to a specifc weapon. (Crusader for example) When a weapon itself has a proc, it's rate of proccing is based on a flat percentage. Therefore, as described by others higher up in this thread, the more haste effects you have, the more it will proc.

What about enchants that procs attacks, could those procs proc nightfall? Say, Lifesteal enchant?

I have had a Nightfall for awhile, and have tested the proc quite extensively over 1000 swings. The procrate seems to stick at 2.1 PPM and that is with WF weapon enchant up. The mod I used to track it is procwatch and I used the line "is afflicted by Spell Vulnerability" to track it. I dont have flurry and I dont have any haste enchants, but as far as I know, they are not supposed to affect PPM. Will post screenies when I get home Sunday of my procwatch data. If anyone want to track it themselves they can find the addon at this location: http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/a...procwatch.html

Haste does indeed affect proc rate. Since Nightfall is a unique proc and limited to one weapon, it's helpfull in this case to give it a chance/hit, allowing other users to extrapolate their approximate proc rate. Since you gave us your PPM, can you tell us your SPM?

Dont have the stats here at the moment. Remember the PPM of the top of my head just. Have them stored in the other computer (holiday ftw) can check it out when I get back.
