Stupid question I want confirmation on. Do totems count towards the shaman's threat?

For example. Lets say I drop Fire Nova when kiting lego's. After the totem explodes, do I get its threat (the game gives me credit for the damage done)? Or does the totem count as a nuetral player that is removed from the aggro list once killed?

Now if the latter is true, and assuming we have an untapped mob. Lets say two shamans drop a searing totem, one hits at range for 50 damage two times. The other hits once for 50 damage. In order to pull aggro from the totems(if I wanted the totems to survive), would I need to do 110 damage to the mob? or 165? Basically does the game account for the searing totems as one player "searing totem". Or does it count as a minion of the individual player (which would in effect give the player the threat once the totem expires/gets killed, meaning the first theory is true)?

I'm assuming it counts as a seperate playerID that is removed from the threat list once destroyed. That I do not inherit its threat, and that each totem is given its own PlayerID number, and is then treated as a completely seperate individual.

Now the only question I have is about untapped mobs. Lets say I drop fire nova when kiting and an untapped lego takes the blast. Who does the lego chase? Does he chase me? or does he just clear his threat list and go towards a random target? Ive noticed I pick up more lego's when spamming fire nova. But that could be anecdotal.

Help me Elitist Lurkers, you are my only hope!

I know Searing Totem counts as a Pet, and gives the Shaman no aggro. FN works the same.

Since pulling with Searing totem is a ranged attack, you need to do 30% more aggro that it to save the totem, so 130 damage should work.

For kiting example, once you hit a Lego with FN, it shouldn't change his aggro list, he uses proxity/healing aggro to find someone to beat on.

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

Oh no, you definitely get the threat when a totem is destroyed. Try dropping a totem in the broodlord suppression room when its repopping - the mobs will aggro the totem and then go right for the shaman and the raid after that. Its actually not a bad mechanic sometimes to get threat off of others - magma totem generates a ton of threat, causing the mobs to attack it and then beeline to the shaman afterward. Its a reasonable way to help out the squishies.

Now what I'm not sure of is if something like a searing totem adds threat to the shaman from the damage - I think that may be considered neutral damage (attributed to nobody), but I've not tested it.
