Were you building aggro in between breaths? If you weren't, one resisted TL will screw you. That's why we don't do the Chrom kite, we just give our current TL OT a couple dedicated healers.

TL was the second breath for this attempt last night for us, we were under the impression that if you are going to get TL it is always the second breath too.

To answer your question, yes I was straight out building agro between breaths, using sunder plus shield slam plus heroic strike whenever I had rage, bloodraging up to obtain rage when I could to do more threat as well. This is why I was a little confused on the agro switches :)

We fight Chrom in the doorway directly adjacent to his cage (opposite the lever), and for TL I hide in his cage itself, when he agros onto me I strafe into just past the centre of the room so when the stun wears off he turns and goes straight back to the MT without him having to move and Chrom is in theory in the exact same position each time.

Why wouldn't that be possible? Any breath can either be his first or second.

I was under the (incorrect) impression it was impossible, like I said. Obviously not, and I have no clue where I'd have heard such a thing. We'd never seen it before, though, which didn't help in terms of disabusing the notion.

Weird, was just thinking about asking a question about time lapse Chrom too.

We had our first go at TL last night (Corrosive was the second breath) and it took us about 5 goes to get it due to what I thought was a bit weird agro behaviour.

I was designated OT for the first part of the fight, and LOS'ing the TL breath. I would obtain agro on the stun, kite Chrom into the room, stun wears off and he heads back to the tank. What was odd though was when there was an agro drop on the MT on the 4th or 5th TL, it went to another tank rather than me as I was expecting. Everyone else was easting the TL's as far as I know so this was not what we were prepared for.

In our eventual kill, I actually ended up being OT TL bitch for more or less the entire fight, while Chrom swapped MT's to two others ahead of me.

Or is this kind of normal?

That's how I've always done TL Chrom. Three MTs at the front building aggro for when the aggro wipe happens, the TL tank just tanking on the TL the whole fight (or tanking him the last way if your 2nd and 3rd tanks get aggro dumped too quickly). Don't forget you are losing aggro time by running out of LOS all the time whereas they can build aggro right up to the TL.

OK, that pretty much bears out the experience on the successful kill.

We'll make a small adjustment to our strat and we should be one-shotting this next time.

[edit] Time lapse has a de-agro component, is that purely focused on the current target? i.e the only person that will get de-agro'd is the current MT?

Up until several months ago, all our Time Lapses were on the second chromag breath - only recently has it ever been the first. So I had a similar notion too =)
