I'm sorry for posting a new thread, but I could not find any information in any thread specificly about this bonus. I also checked thott, Ala, and wowwiki and the threat sticky on R&D, couldn't find an answer

My question is if there is any additional threat (beyond the static damage extension) generated by the extra damage on Revenge? I've read that it's 355 (with AQ20 rank) threat + damage, but does the bonus of additive damage help more than just that?

Maybe I'm not looking at it the right way, but the bonus almost seems lackluster when compared with the later set pieces. If it's not amazing, that's fine, many set bonuses are underwhelming, but I've heard people reference it in passing as one of the better ones on the set.

Any clarification would be really helpful, I hate feeling ignorant on stuff like this.

No additional threat. But 75 extra damage with defensive stance (and defiance, if you have that), with a 10% crit rate, averages out to ~120 extra threat every 5 seconds. That's 24 threat per second. That's a nontrivial amount. It's a very nice bonus.

Oh, I see- that's an entirely different way to look at it- and since it's being used all the time -anyway-.....this number is of course mitigated by AC on the mob, right?

Thanks, this totally makes sense to me...I kinda feel silly for not seeing it.

Also worth noting is that it helps prevents Revenge from getting blocked.

Does revenge not generate even the bonus threat if it's blocked?

It is, Revenge can get parried dodged blocked and miss.
With the AQ20 rank, you wouldn't get any full blocks(at least I never did), but it was close enough to warrant another upgrade(I've had revenge hit for like 10).
2piece DN is definitely a good bonus, especially for early fight threat when rage might be an issue.
