Just saw this article linked in RnD, looks legit:

It's odd that not long ago we were discussing an increased raid cap to make room for the Paladin/Shaman change, but this instead will not only make that difficult, it'll force a lot of hard choices on hundreds of raiding guilds. I have a hard time believing they'll go through with it =/

LOL, looks like myself and Copernicus posted a minute apart.

Btw: Confirmed by Eyonix- http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...&T=9467359&P=1

But having been involved in a "coalition" type raid setup in the past, where we were forced to split into two seperate raid forces due to the overwhelming number of interested people, it really just doesn't work out. Too much drama develops over things like each raid group "stealing" people from eachother, or when drops streak a certain way, or when schedules conflict for different instances. It just gets ugly, and I don't think larger guilds dividing into two is going to go over nearly as well as Blizzard might think. I'm willing to bet a lot of people won't be buying TBC if this goes live.

This will liekly end the game for about half of the raiding base. Making things smaller is never better. Trust me - I've been a part of fps'ers that have done it, and mmo's that have done it... Its stupid. The whole "better group of players" stuff doesn't work the way you might think either.
