I run a 1680x1050 widescreen mode on a 20" widescreen LCD for wow, but last night i updated my graphics drivers and that resolution is no long available in the video options for WoW. Has this happened to anyone else before? Is there a way to manually add the resolution to allow it?

PS. This is my first time posting and i know it's not about gameplay, but you all seem to know the game so well maybe you would be able to help.

I think if you reduce the refresh rate it makes it available. Might not be the solution you're looking for but when I bought my widescreen I couldn't use the resolution until I lowered the refresh rate

Tried that and the available resolutions didnt change. I have 1600x900, 1600x1024 available to me, but not 1680x1050 which is the resolution of the desktop and the one i had all my UI configured to.
*Edit: The WoW refresh rate and that of my desktop are both the same ie. 60Hz

Tried switching to windowed mode or changing the multisampling thing? If nothing works, you could always go back to your old graphic drivers, or find a version inbetween that wow supports but have whatever functionality you switched for.

Just tried changing multi-sampling, didn't change a thing. I simply downloaded the newest Nvidia drivers for my graphics card because the one i had was a little outdated.
Guess i'll keep playing around with it.

Are you using two monitors? I'm pretty sure wow displays the resolutions that your monitor and video card are reporting they support, but it only detects those of your main monitor.

There are a lot of posts about this on the wow tech support forums, most with replies. You could try making a post of your own.

Thanks for the tip red, i fixed the problem by only keeping the monitor that i played wow on connected while i re-installed the drivers.

Had the same issue come up before, you'll get it when you use horizontal spanning instead of actually switching over to dual view mode in your graphic driver options.

Basically the game see's your computer as 1 screen with 3960x1050 resolution available, and since that option isn't available in the game (would totally scew the LOD) it won't give you the 1680x1050 option.

I had the same problem when plugging in dual view screens and wow reso, but I used to run full screen window, but when i changed to one screen full screen it kinda pooped it. Fixed it the same way I think....

well playing on a 37" LCD at 1900+ resolution just has to be done :D (plus i needed a new tv :P).
