The Smutty Wheatwine was a pretty good one. IMO their notable bottle in the big beer series is the Baltic Porter. It's basically an American stout, but oh so good.

See you, auntie.

Their Old Brown Dog is my favorite of the year-round selection (and my current favorite beer overall) so I'm looking forward to trying Really Old Brown Dog in the Big Beer series this winter when it rotates back in.

Hey now. Cleaning a drip tray where the beer has evaporated out to a sticky mess is serious business. I fully support that sign.

I think you're right, had the bottle last night and it definitely had a weird hops flavor that I didn't find agreeable. It wasn't bad but definitely not my style.

The trick of what?

And I got my case of Parabola. Tyrsis saw my tweet but holy crap was the bottle I opened the other day fantastic. Drank a 2006 Aventinus last night and tonight I'm relaxing with a Yards IPA. Not sure what will happen tomorrow. We'll see.

A case? Go to hell! Craft beer is becoming too popular for it's own good in San Diego. It's becoming harder and harder to get bottles of stuff.

Anyway, went to a local event at a bottle shop this weekend. The highlight was Cantillion Rose de Gambrinus. I drank at least 10 4oz tasters of the stuff. Yum.

The case was difficult to get, though. And I'm only going to keep 4 of the bottles (now 3.)

Those are local for me and even I can't get them. That's one hell of a friend you have there.

A new find for me is Port Brew; I tried out their IPA and enjoyed it enough that I will take a trip through some of their other bombers over the summer. Any West Coast drinkers have a suggestion on which to aim for first?

Our craft beer shop had a shipment of Notch Saison this week and we picked up two bottles. Really great American Saison and its super affordable (only $8.50 for 2 bottles) compared to my favorite, Saison DuPont ($10 a bottle). Unfortunately they sold out within two days so we're having to wait for another shipment to stock up.

Also tried the Peak Organic Summer Session Ale and it was a really nice clean, refreshing ale perfect for the warm weather.

Port Brewing? You'll want Mongo (great DIPA) Old Viscosity, Midnight Expressions, Santa's Little Helper.

I drank a Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow last night. It says it's an IPA brewed with lactose. Pretty interesting and damn tasty. Not as unique as I expected it to be but still good.

Was in San Diego for a conference last week, drank lots of Stone on tap, the smoked porter is damn good. Also had some Lost Abbey, Rock Bottom (I know they are a chain, but I like their beer) had a good Kolsch, and Lightning Wheat, which was really, really tasty.

Well it is one bottle per person regardless of number of tickets so the total isn't as useful as you think. If everyone bought 20, you'd be guaranteed a bottle basically.
