Tyrsis, are you part of the Bruery Reserve Society by chance? You do live near there at least right?
Not a member, and won't be for a while (since they're changing it next year.)
But yeah, I'm about an hour, hour and a half from the OC and The Bruery.

Is there a provisions in San Diego or something?

On a sort of separate note, you going to try to buy a bottle of Black Tuesday in October?

First Question: No. Bruery has their brewery itself, then they have a Bottle Shop (that also does tasters, cured meats, cheese) called Bruery Provisions in Orange County.

Second Question: Fuck yes.

For some reason I thought it was in San Diego. Hmm, now I'm going to have to actually figure out how to get the bottle if I'm able to order one.

Trying to get a case of Canadian Breakfast Stout when that comes out, but we'll see. My beer guy tries really hard for me but is at the whim of the distributor.

Let me know if you'd like to trade one of those CBS...

Did you see what Stone is doing for the next Quingenti Millitre release? If you pre-order and buy their book that is coming out, it's a guaranteed purchase for the next beer in the series. The best part is that all you need is the book itself, meaning that Mules are possible...

Mules at $50/bottle. Also looks like they're going to release a lot more beers for the next one. Around 5k of the normal Old Guardian and then 550 each of the 2 Belgo styles. So I'm not sure it's worth even getting the book (unless you wanted that anyway).

Yeah I'm unsure how they're doing it though. I think you need to buy a book to get the beer regardless. It's just that pre-ordering from that one site guarantees you one while buying from Amazon, for example, is a first-come first-serve situation.

Honestly, I thought about asking if Tyrsis would pick it up for me but don't think I'm interested enough in the book to spend $50 on the pair.

Yeah, still not sure if I want the book. Hell, I'm not even sure if I want the beer. Old Guardian is the one Stone brew that flat-out don't like.

If anyone does want this thing though, let me know. I have no problems hooking you up.

Due to flooding after Irene, The Alchemist Pub And Brewery is closed indefinitely. The canning line they're opening on the other side of town is fine, but they only planned on doing one beer there. AND they had just upgraded their entire brew system.

I wish I was, but I'm not. Thinking about a trip next March for the Extreme Brewfest though.

On a separate note, Tyrsis that Fifty-Fifty party sounds awesome. My wife actually said I could go if I can find someone to go with me. She claims she isn't joking even though it's quite a bit of money.

I would love to go... but it's a ten hour drive from SD. Unless I fly, and money is tight during December.

Yeah I saw your post on BA. Didn't realize it was quite so far from San Diego but that makes sense since it's 3 hours or so from San Francisco.

If you guys have access to Smuttynose and haven't tried them, do so. I haven't tried a beer of theirs yet that I didn't like. Just got a hold of their Saison and its fantastic.

Counterpoint: Hanami Ale: Smuttynose Hanami Ale - Smuttynose Brewing Company - Portsmouth, NH - BeerAdvocate is vile. Everything else they do is golden though.
