Where is this Dark Horse located, i.e. central distribution center so we might know where best to find it?

Though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable; I simply am not there.

I've had a bottle of 120 aging on my Wine Rack for about 5 months now... I'm going to crack it soon - maybe for Memorial day.

Chimay Trappistes Grande Réserve.
I was very pleased to see two bottles in the liqueur store over the weekend. One is now gone. I have to say I am exceptionally pleased and will be purchasing more whenever I find them (I didn't see any at all, last year).

The Chimay variaties are all very good.
Strongbow has been my cider of choice, when I can find it here in the Boston area. Thankfully, Kappy's in Sudbury (I think) has it. I fell in love with this stuff at the "Rat and Parrot" in London, and this has been the first time I've been able to find it on any regular basis.

yep
So I got Trappist Westvleteren 12 from a friend and figured it would be a good post on here.
11.2 oz brown bottle (no lable) > Chimay goblet
Westy pours out dark-brown-ish amber color, no ruby hues and almost opaque. The head is a fluffy, creamy but very active and bubbly, mocha-frothe color that stands about 2" high. This clearly has good carbonation due to the head retention, but it's hard to see through the dark body. There is huge and very sticky clumps of lacing all over the glass as the volume goes down.
The aroma is very pungent and very unique. Right off, I'm getting...rollo's candies, chocolate covered dates, slightly sour red grapes, black berries, green bean and herb scented hops with some whiff's of wet cedar wood. The malt is most dominant with light chocolate and caramel scent's. Sweet but earthy.
The first thing you notice when you take the first sip is the massively complex, slick and creamy malt flavor. Classic candied sugar sweetness with really amazing depth. There's honey-covered prunes and dates with overly-ripe red concord grapes then comes a layer of caramel and light chocolate. Sure the malt is a marvel but it's really the sublime balance that impresses me most, with an herbal and slightly spicey hop kick and subtle tangy yeast. The 10.2% ABV is just the right amount of heat, not over-powering but a bit sharp which actually adds further complexity right at the end. I love big-ass malt-bombs so naturally this one is right down my alley.
The feel is certainly full-bodied with a luxurious slick and creamy feel, but lively too....classic for the style.
I simply didn't want to see the end of this stuff, I sipped slowly and it still disapeared quicker than I had wanted. This is a masterpiece of brewing strongly suggest anyone who can get their hands on it with it's limited production to try it out.

Wow, I hate you.
I've been watching ebay for a good price on a 6-pack, but ebaying beer worries me from a packaging standpoint.

I'd like to apologize for this 'drama' but being a member and subscriber of 'Beer Advocate' I can't let this just sit.
Chaotik if you're going to quote another's work please give them credit. Note the 3rd review down...
Trappist Westvleteren 12 - Brouwerij Westvleteren (Sint-Sixtusabdij van Westvleteren) - Beer Advocate
I did contact this reviewer on the forum to see if he was indeed Chaotik, Zeo on Cenarius...and he was not.
Again my apologies for making a scene out of this but one thing i've enjoyed about elitistjerks is the integrity of the forums. Also my personal apologies to Chaotik for this post...

I went on a trip to the Publick House in Boston last night, and the highlight of the evening was the Dogfish Head Burton Baton, which apparently is a blend of their 90 minute IPA and a new double IPA. It came out in enormous snifters, and considering its strength opens pretty mild, but crescendos into a much stronger taste as the alcohol and hops come through. Really, really recommend it if you like DIPAs.

Random post but anyone in London who likes Pale Ale I'd recommend getting down to the Southwark Tavern to try a pint of Sierra Nevada on draft, all the way from California. It's fantastic stuff.

<Fric> I think the only kind of gay buttsex I'd enjoy on any level would be assraping a smug hipster douchebag (also possibly a roid head and/or fratboy/Jersey Shore cast member)
<Zyla> If there's gonna be a dick in the room besides my own, i'd rather it have to be my brother's. You know that kinda sounds bad all typed out like that,

Quoted before Far sobers up and realizes he just publicly admitted an American beer was worth drinking.
To actually add some content, I had the Berkshire Brewing Company (BBC)'s seasonal offering the other day. The menu didn't specify the name of the beer, but judging from their website it's the Lost Sailor Pale Ale. They're a craft brewery out of western Mass, I doubt you can find it outside New England. It was a really good, refreshing beer. Hop heads aren't going to confuse it with a Dog Fish 90 minute or something, it's much more balanced between hops and malt. There's some fruity notes in there, too; my girlfriend noted an orangeish flavor. It strikes me as a perfect "beginner's beer" if you're trying to open someone's eyes to the world beyond Bud without smashing them over the head with an Imperial Stout or a Trippel.

I just picked up a bunch of their "Shabadoo" black and tan. I've pretty much adopted it as my own personal beer. I haven't had anything of theirs that I didn't like.

I was deciding between Honey Moon or New Belgium's Mothership Wit (Belgian style white beer) at BevMo today, but chose Mothership Wit.
