I've had the same issue happen with every patch in the last 3 months. The day a patch hits when I log in to my main my character does not show up on the screen. Just the shadow. as well in my bag inventory everything shows up as a question mark. Does anyone get a similar issue and is there anything I can do to fix it? It usually goes away on its own within a day or two, but since I have a raid scheduled for tonight this is problematic to say the least since I can't really function like this.

Quit wow.
Delete WDB in your World of Warcraft directory.
Restart Wow.

The WDB folder is where all cached icons/textures are held, sometimes on a patch you need to re-cache them.

This is a problem I used to get, it's due to a setting (checksum offload IIRC) on your network card. It used to be stickied in one of the tech support forums, but I'm not sure if it's still there. I'll go have a dig ;)

This issue is named after the names other player have when one is experiencing this problem. The WoW client on your computer is not receiving a name for the other players so it names them, by default, to be "Unknown". Other symptoms include players appearing without armor as well as your character model appearing plain white when you view your character sheet (C key).

This problem stems from the information that is coming to your computer from the realms being blocked or filtered in some way. There are 3 main causes to this problem listed below in order of likelihood.

# Checksum offload setting
# Duplex setting
# Router firmware

Please review the instructions here for the checksum offload and duplex settings first:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww01686p3

You may need to contact the router's manufacturer for directions on checking and updating the firmware for the router. An easy step to check if the router is causing the information to be blocked in this fashion is to remove the router entirely. If connecting the computer to the modem resolves the problem then the router is blocking or filtering the information in some way. Remember that you will have to turn the computer and modem off before removing the router.

The new version of SCTD is horrible. :( Does that count as an issue? The ability to split crits into the left/right columns while maintaining hits in the single vertical damage column was absolutely glorious for watching aggro, and it's just gone in the 2.0 version.

Haven't been able to log in yet (at work) but did the old version still work anyway Wodin? i.e. do I _have_ to update SCTD?

SCTD is kinda meh. Read the config file, make your own damage displays. You can parse anything out and have it display in regular SCT. I have it display my crits and misses as horizontal scrolling text versus my vertical text. Also, grab SCT 5.0 if you haven't, moves a lot of the spam away from the main scroll, really really nice.
