I'm surprised that this hasn't gotten more press, as it seems like a pretty big buff to horde raiding. Our shamans were much higher on the healing meter last night than ever before, and the dps classes loved it since they didn't have to bandage as much.
It now identifies the player missing the most amount of health and jumps to him. It seems to be reliable enough to use for general spot healing duties, allowing druids and priests to focus more on sustained healing duties.

Oh its fricking amazing.
Top 4 spots on effective healing on every trash pull in Naxx last night was a shaman. I think its one of the first times our rogues have survived some of those pulls.

Not sure this needs another topic, was covered by http://forums.elitistjerks.com/viewt...185691#p185691, the topic's course changed to CH about halfway through.

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

Yep. It is undeniably fabulous. I would not mind if it had an extra 5-10 yards of range but all in all there is really nothing I can say bad about this spell.
Last night on the pwerk clear I was pretty much just mindlessly spamming chain heal and my overheal never went over 20%. Chain Heal should be one of our first upgrades come expansion time too. I believe our current rank is from level 52 or 54.

I don't mind the lower level we have now. It lets me mindlessly spam it for trash and drakes and not really worry about mana. If I want a hitpoints back "right now" I use Lesser Healing Wave or NS + Healing Wave, anyway.

Yep, the best is on the knockback trash mobs like the guys after Vael or the trash up to Sartura. Sometimes you land a Chainheal just as they take flight and get the wow equivalent of laser Floyd.

We found it to be most entertaining on the packs just before Patchwerk - 4 shamans worth of Chain Heal going off constantly while chain lightning totems and mind flay rip through the raid. My frame rate was chugging.

Chain Heal is just more awesome in situations where it was already awesome before, it just doesn't require stupid cross-group healing and is a little smarter. This is the behavior it should have always had.
I'd still trade you BoW for it :P

It already gets a faint "rumble of thunder" sound upon being cast - pretty cool!
Also, I would love to see the TS 3-piece bonus as a resto talent some day, just as they did for the EF 3-piece.

I have been trying to get my shamans to use it, but they claim it generates too much aggro. :\

I just don't understand this "aggro" problem that shamans complain about from time to time. I've never pulled aggro off of anyone by healing in a raid - the only times that ever happens is when I solo heal in a 5man. And who cares if a Strat mob pounds on me for a 100 dmg every couple of seconds?

I don't understand the aggro problems either. The only time I draw aggro is if I spam four or five LHW right at the beginning of a fight, *trying* to beat other healers to the punch. Inevitably something comes towards me. Just be smart...don't do that. I'm curious when other shamans tend to have aggro problems, and why their experience/situation differs from my own.

Of course, but if you go full auto using 2.1 sec CH3s you're asking for a beating.

I get aggro on occasion on new (to us) encounters when adds don't get picked up quickly. Nef phase 1 will occasionally find a draconid coming for me and Fankriss will occasionally find a spawn coming for me. I think my next respec will include dumping healing grace since I'd rather mobs come to me than to the priests.

I haven't seen a heal agg problem with it yet. Granted, it's only been fixed since Tuesday, but spamming it constantly in BWL didn't pull agg except during Razorgore from newly spawned mobs. The -15% heal threat talent might help.

I was a little shocked to see it working as advertised. Honestly, it is a spell that applies +healing brilliantly, scales nicely with spell crit and can apply that sexy, sexy armor buff on multiple targets per casting. Making it jump as 'needed' is a very small nerf to some of its past uses but it is certainly a much more viable spell now overall. It certainly is making AE situtations look quite a bit more amusing though; the healing is more flashy than the hellfire and AIE spam!
Overall though, I am sold on this very positive boost to what I've always thought was an underused spell.

Until they get a hell of a lot more +healing gear, I don't see my guild using it over the way 8/8 EF works with the 5/8 (essentially you have a 75% chance to get 35% mana back)

ya...now its slightly higher than 50%...procwatch claims 53%, math claims 58% should be normal. Chain heal with 3ts is superior, and allows more gear options on trash though.. For most bosses, im still all about 8/8ef. Vael being a notable exception.
Maexxna loves 8/8, and Healing Way procs on the bounces. But it really depends on raid makeup. Healing Way is a great talent with other healing wave spammers. if you are the only one keeping it up, it really kills your FSR time.
