I really don't think it'd be anything special rather than just a "fun" trinket. I know I definitely wouldn't use it over even a ZHC, but I guess it depends on what gear is available to you..and the situation you're in. Maybe for some hardcore situations like Broodlord clearing or a lot of AEing, but nothing else. I would only use it for fun, and to see how high I could actually get an AE crit..with AP, Berserking buff, this, and some hardcore consumables.

I was thinking this earlier - Get Arcane Burst to it's shortest cast time, then load up Arcane Power and the Charm. Whammo >=)

lightning shield hitting for 600+ is terrible man!!

Considering how much of a bitch it is to get all 4 pieces for the trinket I'd hate to see a mage get it over say a hunter or rogue.

If you use the Trinket, and then a Rogue jumps you, that is like 1500 damage right there. At the moment the Mage one is the worst, but with the new Arcane talents/spells, it may be more useful.

Oh no, we clear BWL in three hours so any input beyond ZG for this trinket will be interesting to read.

As for getting it before a Rogue or Hunter? Couldn't agree more. We have Renataki's on every Rogue and Hunter in our guild that attends ZG. Well, one is currently collecting but the rest have it, we made sure of that. We generally work on three trinkets at a time.

why would you assume this? lots of the ZG trinkets have unique abilities unavailable anywhere else. the hunter and rogue trinkets are undoubtably the most powerful PVP trinkets in the game for those classes, and the druid/priest trinkets are no slouch either.

we actually used to do enchant/demon boss runs for idols and trinket pieces, and we're farming all of naxx up to horsemen :-P

I have this trinket and while I will agree it is not as versatile or powerful as the other trinkets available to a mage it does have its uses. I find the trinket is very very good with a frost build. Factor in +50% crit chance from shatter, base crit, and another 5% (or possibly 11% if you have the AE talent) and when you have a frozen mob its getting crit almost every time.

I tend to use it when AE farming large groups of mobs right after my grouping of the mobs and nova + coc. I believe the cooldown is the major limiting factor of this trinket.

Three minutes. In fact I am pretty certain each constructed ZG trinket has a three minute cooldown.
