What? Most of his opponents were decked out lvl 60's. I don't think he fought anyone in that video who didn't at least have a few epics.

Continuing the derail, anyone know any good sites for getting gg/sc3 tournament (or general high level play) videos?
Apologies to management, but I can't help myself when fighting games get brought up.

www.a-cho.com and http://game41.web.infoseek.co.jp/movieroom.htm both rotate in alot of GG, along with the usual Street Fighters (2, 3 and A3). SC3 is much harder to find since its not nearly as popular as other fighting games.
Soul Calibur 2 had a pretty substantial tournament scene going. I can neither confirm nor deny SC3's, but since I prefer SC2 anyways (fuck the new Voldo) I'm fine with that.

Also, WTB Tekken Tag tournaments. I sat down with a new friend and we both played TT for the first time in a year, it was sublime. He still remembered King's multi chains, I still remembered how to abuse Jin and Heihachi :) One of his roommates was regaling us of how hardcore the arcades in Japan are; complete with regulars and feared masters - he mentioned one guy who would smoke a cigarette while he was playing and just demolish people one-handed.

Edit - and I doubt you need to apologize for derailing this thread from the terribly fascinating discussion about rogue pvp videos. It's not as if threads on these forums ever stay on topic anyways!

As someone who is featured (read: ganked) in a couple of Minti's videos, I'll say that they are entertaining at least. But like any other pvp video, he features only the clips where he wins. I think I get absolutely ganked going up the MC chain in Nerf Sap 5 or something like that... you don't see the part after that though where he gets horribly demolished. And a lot of the people that he tears apart in his videos are well known for being terrible at PvP (myself included). But his videos were very well made and are fun to watch.
Ah, you're not that bad, malan!

[<--Faran]

But yea, more on teh point of Minti's opponents and such... All of his 1v1's feature good opponents, at least in the latter videos... and on the off chance that they're not amazing (like Malan here), they're at least decked out. But how do you ask someone to show 2v1's, 3v1's, and yes, even 4v1's where all of their opponents are good? That's just a contridiction of terms... its impossible for a "good" player to lose a 3v1 or worse, and even a 2v1 should be hard to win against even one good opponent.

And I have no idea where you get that he faces people that are less than level 60, the only video I recall that happening is Nerf Sap 1 where minti himself is lvl 50-52.

www.dustloop.com/forums is the best place for guilty gear in english for information and discussion and stuff, theres a seperate section for media. (i'm also rather popular there!) If you live in the NJ/NY area and want to get into the scene I can introduce you to really good people, and you can probably relearn the game with me and my friend if you so please (who happens to be my GM no less!).

soulcalibur.com/forums is pretty much the same deal for soul calibur. i pray to god you dont play the US PS2 version :(

SC2's scene died down pretty quickly once Tekken 5 came out (and was generally considered a widely better game for tournament play after DR came out), SC3 got a B version, but it's only for the Euro, Japanese and Arcade version AFAIK, I'm not sure if the PS2 has a second version or not, but the original PS2 US release is ASS, stay away at all costs because it's balanced horribly and riddled with game breaking bugs (22G).
