Mute finally released the video. I watched some of it, it was just as funny as the other two.

I enjoy the monologues at the beginning, had a few good laughs.

World of rogue craft is sooooo patch 1.4

DL'ing regardless, I'm a whore for wow videos.

Waste of time watching it, in my opinion.

Well, it's useful if you want to become a politician. You learn to shove words in people's mouths and spread biased propaganda.

I was sorta sad. The production values were nice, but the fights were boring(too many fights performing the same specific combination over and over) and he completely failed the "scales with gear in pvp" argument even though we do, by highlighting fights where he was blowing cooldowns left and right to win anyways. I was most disappointed, I think, by the lack of reversal fights - he never bothered to show how a truly skilled rogue gets out of the "oh snap, polymorphed from nowhere" or "hunters mark + aimshot crit, what do I do now?" situations that I've seen better video creators like Dahis show.

Edit: I have to give him credit for the "want to see my pvp video?" bit at the end. That was classic.

Surely it's due your highly analytical skills and critical eye that you came up with this amazing commentary without even having to watch the video.

The first half was good.

"If a Rogue had all their cooldowns every fight they'd be grossly overpowered"

15 minutes of footage of people being stun-locked with every cooldown in the Rogue book of tricks without being able to move an inch.

"A Good Rogue doesn't need cooldowns to win every fight."

That's where the video broke down because he's essentially went back to just popping multipule cooldowns each and every fight, if he burned 1 per fight that was one thing, but A. Rush? Come on now...

I did enjoy the beginning, about Rogues being the most nerfed class in the game, as a Warrior I chuckled when the Rogue started crying about how he can't beat anyone anymore, which is JUST how the Rogue fourms sound, "I used to beat everyone, now I can't beat anyone.""The Eddie of Warcraft" line is in my sig on the new WoW boards.

I also laughed out loud at the dialog mid video. "I have to wait hole minutes to do it again! *Hysterically* MINUTES!!!!!"

And of course the "Rogue PvP video" spoof at the end was golden, with Ja Rule playing and the Rogue having 2 minutes of walking around taking his weapons out heh. Silly Rogues, tricks are for kids.

I suspect that partly dates back to, "rogues always get the first hit in PvP, and before that the opponent is unaware of them." In that situation, hunters probably won't break the stunlock, and even if a mage does Ice Block out of it, and PoM-Poly, you can still (tested in 1.12, still in the game) vanish out of it so long as you hit the vanish button during the polying animation.

Turnarounds would certainly be nice to see though, yes.

I agree about too much repetitive PvP too. However, I think the majority of the PvP in decent gear was to demonstrate that, using the same tactics as previously, the fights went much faster, i.e. just to illustrate how slow the naked-worn combo really is.

That said, I'm suprised he didn't include warping (which, as of 1.12, is now freaking hyper warping >.<)

And the PvP video at the end was superb. :D

I wanted to like it, I really did! But between the voice acting that was like nails on a blackboard, 15 minute marathons of mindnumbingly similar fights (with one of the marathons involving cooldown after cooldown RIGHT after saying rogues don't need cooldowns), several opponents obviously not being very good, etc. I found myself hating it and skipping about 20 minutes of dumb fights. I enjoyed the final music video part, though it obviously applies to 99% of music videos by all classes!

I loved the total stunlocking at the start and the pvp video at the end. Good stuff in my opinion

I liked this thread http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...52970&pageNo=1 which contains about 5 pages of random_NE_rogue_001 missing the point of the first 15 min of stunlocking. "lolz he use cooldown every fight and say rouge imba!!"

This just reminds me why I would still be playing daoc if I wanted to pvp.

Rane 08/25/06 10:47 PM

High amusement factor, especially seeing some famous Ret fellas getting their asses kicked, but low educational value which I sort of expect from the series.

Extra pro points for the aforementioned pvp video at the end tho.

Page 2 top post is an absolute winner.

Speaking of rogue videos, who makes good ones? I watched the corrupt one that just resently showed up on warcraftmovies, and can say I was impressed. Who else should I search for?

Crossbones 08/25/06 11:08 PM

This one was too much straight-up PvP. It lacked the the amount of jokes/gimmicks as the other ones. I still enjoyed it thought -- love the rogue PvP vid at the end.

I kind of wish we got more than "warlocks got buffed" seeing the second episode had such an emphasis on warlocks.
