Well alt with double gathering is already a reality. When TBC comes, I'll have my current alt that will still be alchemy(for transmutes cooldowns) and enchanting(to disenchant my greens without having to go thru people). My current main will be made a gathering alt(currently have eng/herb, well I just dropped eng to get disenchanting to clean my bank before the patch, and I'll level mining instead). And my new main, a paladin, will probably end up being something like eng/smith, even tho I'm not too sure yet, which is why I said I'm not deciding before I hit 70 and have the whole info about tradeskills.

LWing might become the big thing to be(if you're not an enchanter, or if you take both) because the drums things are supposedly AE buffs(but reported as very low range in here, haven't tested it myself). AE burst AP bonus, AE fears for the few encounters where you might need it(fankriss v1) and stuff. That's why I don't believe enchanting will definitely be a must, people might just prefer getting LWing for the buffs, and get on top of that personal crafted armor in case they're druids/shamans/hunters just like smithing does. For all we know they might add watered down versions of ring enchants that are not enchanters specific.

In the end however, once people start the theorycrafting, you will always end up with one better tradeskill, one better talent build, one better gear set, one better way to play the game. Tradeskills perks add a few advantages, and even tho you might not be the best in every situations if you don't take the optimum tradeskills, you will have moments where you shine, which makes not specing LW/enchanting(or whatever the combo will be) viable. That's what I think, but that might be wishful thinking, or just being too positive. It's up to blizzard to make them as balanced as possible.

I got one question regarding new item restrictions for enchants. I heard that i.e high-end weapon enchants like crusader, lifestealing, fiery will have minimum item level restriction. No more lvl 19/29 twinks with crusader then?
Anyone know what is the new minimum level for these enchants? Should I quickly enchant some nice "twink BoEs" before the patch if I plan to roll a twink in future?

Old enchants are not changed AFAIK, just the new enchants that were introduced.

Has anyone found (or written) a compiled list of where to get all the new enchants from (i.e. trainer/vendor in shattrah/drops off X/etc)?

Sigh. Yup.

I took engineering for the fun PvP toys.

But now whats the point of it? EVERY profession is getting neat new stuff and what do I get? a New way to throw 5 gold at someone to try help me win a duel. Bit pathetic really. Dropping engineering pretty soon, but Ill have to level a gathering profession from scratch to grind up a new profession (hm.. smithing maybe) so I think Ill wait till 70.

AE fear is lovely. So are the nets (are they 100% chance to work? or like the engineered netgun that has killed me half the times I used it =). I really do hope they make engineering more fun again by giving it more diversity than the tired old "hits for xx damage, disorients for xx seconds" stuff.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.
The only problem is, it's often an incoming train.

Engineering still has a point because (correct me if I'm wrong) it has the most cool things that can be used in Arenas - pots can't be used, but belts that absorb a few thousand damage can, trinkets with 50+ stamina and a use effect can, etc.

Not to resurrect a dead thread, but I was looking for any info on Spellsurge.

Anyone have any practical use with it live? Is it bugged, or is the proc rate consistent with the tooltip? Basically just looking for people that have it and their experiences with it.

There's a bit of discussion about battlemaster and spellsurge here:

Gnomish Poultrizer (trinket) can no longer be used (recent patch). Not sure about the belt. Next content patch they are promising Engi enhancements. If it's not worth it after that I am dropping it.

You can use the belt with a fairly high malfunction rate and certain death if it does malfunction.

Is that trinket (and presumably the goblin version) still equippable with just the use being disabled?

Yes, it is still equippable, with on use being disabled. The Goblin version however can still be used in arenas.
