We only have 3 prot speced tanks (and pretty well geared too, our warrior drops are pathetic over the months we have been able to farm MC/BWL.) So we are thinking about putting our best geared druid in there for OT purpose.

Is that feasible?

Yes, a properly geared and flasked druid can occupy the various Patchwerk tank roles. They aren't going to be quite as good as a Naxx-geared heavy-Dreadnaught full-prot tank, but they are well beyond adequate.
