Why is it soo damn hard to trinket swap during patchwerk? Do the HS's keep you in combat or is it the nerf they made to the combat system. feels like 1.10 all over =/.
In any case, What would be a the best trinket to leave on for patchwerk other then the seal? no i dont have jom or drake fang, but i have everything else, renataki's, etc.

I've had issues with it as well, possibly because of wolf howl active on party members.
I don't have any special trinkets (except Badge of the Swarmguard, and when I can't swap, I don't really feel it's worth using in this fight), so I use Seal of the Dawn + Blackhand's Breadth. I haven't done any hardcore comparisons, but I think it's a pretty decent and viable combo.

crap, made a post but i hit a random button and it's gone.
WTF is it about this fight? i dont have auto howl on ever either. Trinket swapping is half the fun of hunter dpsing. (at least for me)
anyway, I got songflower today but no GOA. Mana isnt going to be an issue either. you guys think Renataki's would be viable dps if i'm forced to leave it on all fight? i should be able to use it 2x during the course of the fight.

Patchwerk seems to have a permacombat aura of some sort.
If you stand far enough away, and your pet is on passive, you should be able to drop out of combat.

wait, wait, then that means i cant have my pet atk? or i get stuck in combat?
the other hunters that dps stand like at the back wall practically and they say they still get stuck in combat.

Depending on your positioning it may not be possible. I'm not sure of the range on his aura, it may be too big. I do know that if I run far far away from him on a wipe and feign I am dropped out of combat. And if your pet is attacking a mob it will always keep you in combat afaik.

I think Rentaki's is a PvP toy with the long cooldown. And ES is 47 AP over time, assuming you hit it as soon as the CD is up, so I'd say if you can't swap stick to the bread and butter of Royal Seal and BB.

Uhm, use the Argent Dawn trinket (+81 AP vs undead) instead of Royal Seal.
Other than that, on wipes I'm able to Feign Death, unequip and log out (if I have any special buffs I want to save) while in ~20 yards range of Patchwerk.
Edit: That's after I dismiss my pet though.

"Sure it was" :D
On a sidenote (I do tend to go terribly off-topic sometimes, don't I?), on the attempt that seemed like our first kill (wiped at ~40% though), I had a very interesting trinket combo equipped...

If you are feign deathed and he gets on top of you(or near you) he can hateful you, which is why I prefer to run far, far away.

Never try to use Feign Death in the path of any alive member. It's certain death.

You need to have your pet stop attacking before you feign death otherwise you will not drop out of combat. I had no problems switching trinkets on PW last night.

yea, i know man, that's like hunter skillz 101. could be server lag, who knows. But, i did use renataki's/seal, and wow, i did a lot of damage, outdpsed all the other hunters etc. If i get crits with renataki's it's gg. would be nice though to know the real math on that renataki's trinket.
