I'm pretty sure this is unintended behavior.

When I'm partying with someone, and I cast Dampen/Amplify on them, and leave the party, the buff disappears.

I don't see why this wouldn't be the case for MCed mobs - they're only in your "party" for the duration of the MC.

Aside from Patchwerk, I don't conciously remember Amplify Magic being used. We have one mage with the improved version, which contributes an additional ~500 healing per healing rotation (over the non-improved version) on our #1 Hateful Strike tank.

I tried this on our last BWL run and Amplify was still on him after all eggs were down but only for like 5 seconds, then it disappeared. :(

Tried it yesterday on Razorgore and unless I'm having problem with my eyes, it wasnt there during p2. I'm the MCguy on Razor so I was specific on when to pop the Amp. Magic buff but it was removed just as phase2 began (yeah, we remembered to use detect magic..).

Having said that, maybe there are some reasons why sometimes it stays (like in the screenshot above) and sometimes it's removed (group setup, who's MCing, etc).

I think it's safe to say that it is flat unintended behavior. Only that one person can corroborate it staying on, so I would have to say his Razorgore is bugged, or it worked on him "just that one time".
