Decided to make a list of stuff to get whilst bored...

Discombobulator Ray (not equipped) - turns the target into a leper gnome and reduces movement speed by 20% - probably even works @ Gluth :) The comedy effect of rushing Blacksmiths with friends and turning all enemies there into gnomes is awesome :)

Tidal Charm (trinket) - stuns target for 3s - range is 30 yds! The Prince is never there though :(

Dog Whistle (not equipped) - Provides extra DPS on Patchwerk. Get 40 of them. True reason for all the recent server crashes on Outland :(

Invisibility Potion (not equipped) - or Lesser Invisibility Potion - don't think there's much difference in the effect except the duration - very nice for ninja'ing into the flagroom or just for those unwanted "boy meets girl" moments (where the boy is an Undead warrior with DEoI who has just popped Battle Stance, the meeting is him spotting me and where the girl is my priest fishing).

Catseye Elixir (not equipped) - in my experience, this is not that good - but it gives you a stealth detection level equivalent to a lvl 62 player which is sometimes enough vs non-NE to break any opener. Worth keeping a couple with you.

Barov Peasant Callers (trinket) - only really funny when there are a very lot of them - 5 for 15 mobs are quite good for confusing people at Blacksmiths also. Also useful in hunter duels to trigger any traps. See also Cannonball Runner which is quite unfunny unless there are about 5 of them pointing at the flag during the opening zerg @ Blacksmiths.

Chained Essence of Eranikus - 8 yard AOE poison. What could be better than using Chained Essence of Eranikus at an Alterac Valley zerg? Using 5 of them! It stacks, it's beatiful, it keeps a rogue from stealthing for 45s...

Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator (cloth helmet) - Gives you a buff that causes damage to things attacking you - like Thorns - lasts when it's removed too. Good for tanking lots of mobs.

Hydrocane (2H staff) - allows you to breath underwater - see also Azure Silk Belt - increases swim speed by 15% (I don't know why but I find being underwater quite stressful).

Limited Invulnerability Potion (not equipped) - immune to physical attacks for 6s - surprisingly cheap too since the Chinese hunters started farming herbs in Maraudon.

Skull of Impending Doom (offhand) - deals up 100-500 damage every 5s for 10s. Breaks poly, scatteshot, freezing trap, blind, gouge, seduce. Quest reward. You do not take dura loss from death from this. See also Crystal of Zin-Malor (trinket) - another self damage item.

Run speed enchant (enchant) - 8% increased run speed - this is the solution to every problem in the game (for old solution, see Green Whelp Armor) - dying @ Heigan? Get this. Dying @ Thaddius? Get this. Dying in any situation ever, get this.

Flash Bomb (not equipped) - 5 yard AOE fear (10s) on all beasts - works vs druids when in forms. Really easy to farm and make.

Jungle Remedy (not equipped) - sometimes removes disease effects (Devouring Plague) and Poison effects (i.e. Viper Sting) but are incredibly easy to farm. See also Restorative Potion - removes poison/magic/curse - both share cooldown with HP pots.

Clutch of Foresight (not equipped) - Counterspells an enemy cast preventing them from using that school for 10s - 1 charge only though - surprises the hell out of any healing class.

Bag of Marbles (not equipped) - Decreases target's chance to hit by 25% (10 charges) - you'd be surprised by how many bosses this actually works on and how many of your guild's gnomes/dwarves/NE haven't done this quest from Elwyn Forest. See also Wail of the Banshee (not equipped).

Snowball (not equipped) - They laughed when I created a bag alt just to store these in. They didn't laugh when they died at the Anubisath mob because they couldn't get away from the explosion. Nor at the frogger mobs past Patchwerk. Or the time that they wiped @ Razorgore because someone hit the controller...

Dartol's Rod of Transformation (not equipped) - Turns you into a furbolg for 3 mins.

And of course, Noggenfogger Elixir - use of Noggenfogger should be banned at Noth. The slowfall effect is quite nice @ AnubRekhan. See also Savory Deviate Delight - I miss the old faster casting proc :(

RIP Large Rope Net (not equipped) - held a target captive for 10s - sadly removed from the game :( How can guilds kill Ragnaros without them :( ?

I've recently been experimenting with the skull of impending doom on my rogue and it really is quite nice in PVP. The chicken buff sound it makes is only icing on the cake.

I have a lot of stuff taking up bank slots that I keep around just for fun. My favorites are the things you can't get anymore (Goblin Transponder, 10xCombat Mana Potion).

yea you could get it last x-mas.

There was the gnome suit, snowman suit, the holly that turned your mount into a reindeer, frost power enchant for weapon and the schematic for the snowmaster-9000.

awesomeness.

Oh and mistletoe, which I recently seen as someone's buff in a patchwerk video. How the hell they managed to still have it for so long illudes me.

If anyone at Blizzard is reading this post (blue plz) I have one simple request for you:

In TBC, a level 70 epic follow-up quest from Neeru Fireblade in Orgrimmar. Require the player to have this. Do not offer any means of obtaining a new one if the player destroyed the original. Summarily fire any GM who restores an "accidentally destroyed" one in response to player petition.

Come on guys, make it happen. I have faith in you.

Ahahahaha. I disagree though, there should be some highly-complex and very long quest line to get a demonic rune converted into the item to which you're referring if you've lost your previous one.

So I foolishly destroyed my skull, not realising I could've saved 1000s of g in repair bills by killing myself during wipes.

Before I petition a GM to get it back (something I'm seriously considering! Even though it'll probably get a nerf at some point), is there any other reliable way to kill yourself in combat without causing durability loss (outside of Hellfire)?

I'm a 300 Goblin Engineer, presumably I could use Sapper charges or some such? Though I guess the skull is far more reliable, especially now the Sapper self charges are resistable and have a cooldown.

I still have it as souvenir, simply because of rarity. I mean, an item which is infrequently got as reward from a quest that can only be done in the first place from getting infrequent drops? That's rare.

All the pages of Weavils diary because the Felguards in the Blasted Lands cannot, well, should not, be pulled three at a time.. I'm Talking to you Moz.

The materials for about 20 repair bots, because they stack to take less space in the component parts than when assembled.

5/8 Earthfury.

2 stacks of snowballs on the offchance I ever get put in the hunter group for running the slimes.

Enough Ankhs for scrub shaman.

You only get 2 or 3 item restorations, and items that have been gone for a while are very hard to restore (especially without knowing when you sold it).

Also the item does 100-500 shadow damage (should be resistable) twice over a 10 second period, so it doesn't do reliable damage even.

The only use I see is breaking Poly/Shatter shot.

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

And it gives you a 60% sprint which is very useful in warsong. I've also had it break frost nova on my rogue because FN breaks on damage.

I believe the amount of damage it does is locked to your level, not 'random'. So at 60 it's doing the ~500 mark?

Also, in any gear, I have a lot less SR than FR because of the way Blizz itemised the tiered sets. Maybe the lack of resistances on T3 is a Skull Of Impending Doom buff? ;)

Could always bust out an oozeling!

It does trigger a shared cooldown with the Nifty Stopwatch though, I believe?

Wrong, I've had it tick for only 100 on my 60 rogue. It's definitely random.

With 2 prep sprints, the power-up boots, this offhand, and a swiftness pot I can continually sprint all the way from one WSG flag to the other.

Nice. Yeah, I've done similar with the stopwatch, although obviously it's only 40% speed. I used to keep the blue PvP boots on me at all times too, for an extra 6 seconds total.

Can someone confirm that 8% speed on boots doesn't affect your sprint speed? It's just 170% regardless, I assume?
(If so, I may convert my PvP boots into my riding gear so I always have them on me.)

You're not being mean enough. It should be a high-complex and very long quest line to get a key for one of the fabled casual "free-epix!" 5 man instances. This quest would require the insignia in the end to finish.

As for being on topic, the only item that I've keept was the [Amulet of Draconic Subversion] from the Onyxia questline.
I waste way too much bank space on gear and potions. :(

Depends on the GM you get really. I've had way more than that restored. Was nearly all sold stuff though other than my mini diablo and he's special. May be deleted stuff you can only get a few restored off.

But... it's true that without knowing exact times of selling will make it harder.

last halloween i determined that you could remove the 'recently trick-or-treated' debuff with mind vision/weakened soul/bandages up to 16. i could've been swimming in costume rods, but it took longer to find all the priests than it would've taken for the debuff to run out naturally.

I've gotten over 23 item restorations, however, I've had to pay for a large majority of them. (Through either Nexus Crystals or for vendor price).

Let me tell you don't quit the game then come back 2 months later wanting all your DEed Felheart back :( Wasn't very fun farming gold naked no sir. Most of the stuff was NR that I couldn't get back in anticipation for AQ40, or just my random epics from MC. Anything that was blue was vendor price based, and all of my epics were Nexus Crystal based.
