So when Nax first came out you could farm the blue undead slaying set.Initially i thought it was a set for undergeared ppl or something, but after thinking about the 2% more dmg to undead i dediced to start using it, but seeing im the only guy in my guild using it (top guild at horde side) and often coming to argument with people if its worth it or not and since im considering doing the expensive enchants on it (im on 3stats/7str/7agi atm) i decided to post here. Now although i DID attempt some maths via dps spreadhseets and broggetas calculator with my current gear , ll leave it to you to make a comparison with the best alternatives in game, even though my gear is worse than the one listed (namely bf bracers/rank 12 gloves/madcap chest)

So the undead slaying set from bracers/chest/gloves offers 186 ap and 2% more damage to undead.
T3 gloves/bracers and t2.5 chest (since t3 aint really accessible to most people) will give 85ap+3crit+2hit+63agi

I only care about the dps potentional and not about the survibility(stamina) or avoidance (agi>>dodge) or heal through 2 t3.

As a mage, I consider it a situational upgrade over tier 2. I don't have firepower enchant on gloves though and I have Dark Storm Gloves normally so I rarely switch to it anymore as the normal gear wins out through mana endurance, survivability and crit%.

I use it for gargoyles and I think it might be worth getting the gloves enchanted and using it for Loatheb to boost those ignites some, as the 2% bonus scales nicely with all those consumables and crit% is less important.

Usually +crit and +hit scale just as well as the 2% bonus damage, so I agree with CrazyGamer, the set is only occasionally useful. Might be different for rogues tho, but I guesstimate not that different? :)

I destroyed mine.

It stacks up well, for blues, but it's so close that, to be honest, I'd rather keep the 3 precious bank spots !

63 agility = 63 AP and about 2.2% more crit so you're comparing 36 AP and 2% damage bonus with 5.2% more crit and 2% more hit. Crit and hit equivalence as either percent of damage or AP are pretty variable depending on other gear, spec, raid buffs, consumables. I will use low end estimates of 12 AP per %hit and 18 AP per %crit. The 2% damage bonus is equal to about 50 AP (generous estimate), depending on other factors. So now we have 86 AP equivalence for the undead slaying set compared to the 118 AP from the other gear options.

my gear is worse than the one listed (namely bf bracers/rank 12 gloves/madcap chest)
Comparing to your gear which has 43 agility, 1% to hit, 3% crit, 44 AP. This converts to 180 AP equivalence, which is just below the 186 AP from the undead slaying set not even counting the 2% damage bonus. This may not be definitive as your AP equivalences for %hit and %crit may be higher than the low end estimates that I used. However, even using the highest AP equivalences I can currently achieve (18 and 24) still puts the undead slaying set ahead with the gear that you have.

I destroyed all of mine, as the plate undead slaying set was objectively worse than my gear at the time. I still use my seal of the dawn, but that's about it.

Stupid question: Is thaddius "undead"?

http://www.thottbot.com/?n=1017272

2% might be kinda nice if it's multiplied out as such. Unless I'm just being dumb w/ my math.

Kinda being dumb with your math =). 490 DPS which is turned into 500 DPS via the 2% bonus is the same as just doing 500 DPS with your regular gear. The Thaddius buff will affect both sets equally.

Nothing new there. Figured if you could add 2% after the buff or something, it might be sexy.
