Sorry to renew an old thread, but it appears the 8 piece faith bonus is as bad as it could be. WTF...seriously. I'm really pissed off that 3 piece trans will still be "de facto" a year and a half after I got it.

If they keep it at the current proc rate, they need to make it 24mana/tick (2 seconds), or else it is indeed trash.

Either that or increase the proc rate.

Or hell, make it something unique, like:

Has an x% chance to trigger an epiphany, allowing 100% of mana regeneration from spirit to continue for y seconds.

Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon will give you the same amount of mana regen and you don't even have to clear Naxx for it.

Blue Dragon does take up a potential equipment slot though. I have no problem with set bonuses being weaker than a set of gear, but to be weaker than another, must more easily obtained set bonus, which actually outweighs both the harder set bonus and the stats you give up by using the lower tier gear, is unbalanced itemization.

Giving 8pc Faith a Blue Dragon-esque proc is fine. Just balance the numbers so that it's at least ON PAR with 3pc Trans so you'll see people using Faith because of the better stats + equivilent set bonus.

On the bright side the Trans mana regen bonus is only 3 pieces. Imagine if it were the five or, Jet Li forbid, 8 piece. I'm looking at Trans Belt, Pants, and I'm thinking Robes to go with Bracelets of Royal Redemption + Faith Shoulders, Helm, Gloves, and Boots. I'm more concerned with the 2 piece bonus, so I may just stick with that and more non-set gear, but I'm pretty far down on the list for Faith which gives me more time to think about it rather than have very expensive Tier 3 go to waste if I decide to do something else.

I guess that's always been my biggest problem with the 3 piece trans bonus. IMO it's the best set bonus in the game for priests. Why does it only require you to kill one boss in BWL to obtain? Like you said though, I'm definitely happy that it only takes three pieces to get, that allows for a lot of flexibility. I just hope Blizzard revisits the proc on 8 faith to at least make it on par. The difficulty of obtaining 8 faith and 3 trans is not even in the same ballpark and I feel the bonuses should reflect that.

Basically 3 Trans fully buffed, in my opinion the best gear obtainable for my playstyle, gives approximately 40 mp/5. Some will say that more regen is unnecesary, but I find that the more regen you get the more liberal you can be with you Flash Heal, PW:S, Renew, higher ranks of GHeal and less reliant on Heal 2 or GHeal 1-3.

It makes things much more "easy mode" for the Priests, same with Druids. IDK what they were thinking, but maybe they just wanted healing to a bit easier to speed up progression?

I held out a lot of hope that the 8-piece Faith bonus would specifically be a stackable buff and that's what would make it so "awesome."

Hopefully they can get someone new to itemize Priest set armor in the expansion or change the current Faith bonus to be worth it. Otherwise, I'll stick to my planned gear out of BWL/AQ40 with two-piece Tier 3.

Redemption 8pc is pretty hot, though situational.

Also: Giantstalker 8pc. Some people don't consider it to be worth breaking until 8pc Dragonstalker.

Bibdy, we are warlocks. We have never seen a good 8pc bonus since felheart.

Assuming you aren't referring to just T3... 8 pc Trans HoT is pretty damn nice...

Question.. What about Druid's and 3 Stormrage how does that work out? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to itemization for a Druid.

Eight piece might is somewhat nifty.

Less of a concern for Druids because they have Spirit/5 as their multiplier for regen, rather than Spirit/4.

8 Peice trans was definately, definately worth the effort. As were all of the bonuses from the trans set. For me its looking like Robes, Bracers, Pants to get my 3 peice, then one day :) Bracers, Belt, Pants to make room for the robes.

Blizzard needs to clone whoever developed the final Transcendence set bonuses. Faith, Prophecy and Oracle bonuses cannot touch Transcendence for it's usefulness and longevity.

Even 8/8 Might is rather meh, you may be generating more threat per sunder application, but in the end, your still wearing Might :(

uh...netherwind, especially for fire mages?

For the priests that have 8/8 trans and a fair bit of Faith, I'd be interested to see a poll of what actually gets worn in Naxx boss fights.
