This post doesn't have much merit, because it's mostly an empty theorycraft without much basis. But for anyone who knows something about these encouters - how would you value frost resist? Obviously we won't be DEing the epic frost pieces in Naxx, and the bank will hoard frozen runes, but beyond this staple, epic frost resist, is there much need?

What I'm asking if I'm bored in off hours, is it worth it for example to grind out the 10 or so AV wins I need for my exalted trinket? Does this kind of mediocre frost resist have any interest for the fight, or is trading in stats not useful? (I don't need the other AV exalted loot, and I could grind herbs instead, joy). How 'bout the Ony neck / Eidolon talisman analogue, the frost resist neck from the water elemental invasion? You know, stuff like that.

On a probably more interesting note, has anyone found a good abbreviation? When Naxx was first announced I started trying to push CR for cold resist, but it looks like the more annoying to type FrR is winning.

I prefer FrR, and I have seen others use it too. CR is used in other games, so it could be confusing if that was used.

Experience the fight yourself to know how much will work for you, but remember, there is a good reason why frozen runes drop from bosses, and why FrR gear drops from a few Naxx bosses.


The trinket is only 10 FrR, but if it is only 10 games before you are Exalted (you must be revered), why not?

Yeah, halfway through Revered or so. I hadn't BG'd at all since 1.12 came out, then this weekend was AV, so I thought I'd take a look. HOLY CRAP! There were like 40 games up! I'm a pure PvE raider and have almost no time outside of our 4 40 man's a week. And the games were fast! I spent a whole day in AV like an addict just running these fast games. Seriously, within 20 seconds of signing up for a game a fresh one would pop. It wasn't enough time to walk from the Frostwolf dudes by the bank to the AH.

Since nobody knows but a select few guilds, I guess the best advice at this point is 'Let absolutely nothing go to waste' and start farming for those epic FrR pieces. Now.

Out of around 6 million players, there are a little over 100 who could give you an honest answer.
