I'm very sorry of this has been clarified already but I was curious when was the soonest Shadow's Edge was able to be acquired? I see all the talk about Shadowmourne, but for the individuals not getting it, and the pre-req axe being BiS considering, I have been trying to decipher when I would be able to attain it. Is it possible with the new bosses coming out this Tuesday? Or does it require even more down the line. I know for some of you reading the quest line makes this obvious, but that hasn't been the case for me.

Yes, you will obtain Shadow's Edge after completing The Sacred and the Corrupt.

Any verification on whether the Rotface and Festergut quest items are lootable by everyone on the quest?

Only one person can loot this item, if you want multiple people to roll on this item, this will have to be dealt with on free for all. On masterlooter, the one person who has control over the loot (not the lootmaster, but the person who can loot the gold or any items below the decided loot threshold) can take it. If that person is not on the quest, the item can be looted through the free for all system. First one to take it has it.
Know that this was on the PTR. I will not claim that this will be the same on live servers.

This is from wowhead's comments on the Rotface/Festergut Acidic Blood items pages.
I know it's not much but it's the best I could do. Hopefully, some US players will have the answer tonight for us Euros ;-)

This is how it is working on live.

The reconfirm, the Shadowmourne questline is linear for those who were still wondering, so you have to do it in order, Souls->Putricde->Blood Priests->Sindragosa. So there's no real rush to get the 1000 souls until Sindragosa is available for killing and the Soul Shards portion begins.

Make sure you are careful when you loot Rotface and Festergut for the quest items. Who ever is chosen to be the first should loot the boss before anyone else with the quest.

Since this is the only thread that refers to Icecrown Citadel, I thought I'd post my question here. I'm from Europe, so my guild hasn't been able to raid new bosses in ICC, but I checked World of Logs for new boss kills. Apparently, there are over 250 25 man wipes registered there, but no Putricide kills. My question (to those who already raided the place in the US) is: is Putricide so hard, or is WoL just behind? I realise it's too early to talk about tactics, but describing boss difficulty doesn't violate any rules I hope...

From what i've seen elsewhere people are suggesting the encounter may be bugged by only allowing you to spawn one abomination which, while not so much of an issue on 10 man mode, is causing problems on the 25 man version.
There's a few threads about such as World First Plagueworks Kills hopefully there'll be word from blizzard soon as to whether its going to be fixed or if people are just 'doing it wrong'.

I hope there is a thread discussing the intricacies of new encounters soon, because they are complex fights. I'm anxious to read how others are approaching things like ooze kiting on Rotface, abomination management on Putricide, etc.
I cannot really comment on how hard Putricide is because I don't feel like I've figured him out. I will say that Rotface and Festergut were harder than I anticipated. I found that 10 man Festergut really favored having 3 healers, which is surprising given that three healers used to be for certain hard modes only (Northrend Beasts, for example).
I'm curious to see if Blizzard intended this steep ramp up in difficulty, because the encounters I saw yesterday will thwart PUGs and alt runs.

WoWprogress.com agrees with the bugged theory. Hundreds of guilds are 7/12 on 10, but not one single guild on 25. It's all 6/12 at the top.

We didn't attempt Putricide because of the rumors of a bug (only one Abomination for the fight) and the 10 attempts lockout made us not want to use up any of our attempts. We'll try it tonight, hopefully with a better idea on what is going on.
Tactical discussion is allowed at the standard EJ level - Icecrown Posting Guidelines (updated 8 Dec 09)

Feel free to discuss your experiences from the PTR, the intricacies of mechanics, strategy variations, and whatever else you like.

I think the current Putricide issues really illustrate the flaw in the limited attempts system. Learning a new encounter is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game, but in this case there is a lot of incentive to be incredibly conservative with your attempt, especially given the widespread rumors of the encounter being bugged. So rather than just dive into new content (which is already being parceled out slowly), instead the wise thing to do is run through it on 10-mans first, maybe do an alt run, and wait a day or two to watch videos.

Putricide is not bugged according to Blizz
|
Just as a point of clarification. The Professor Putricide encounter is working as intended. You are only allowed one abomination up at any given time in both 10 player and 25 player modes.

Looks like Paragon (EU-Lightning's Blade) have downed him on 25, so he's not unkillable.
