First kill tonight and I have to say the DnT shadow priest thing really works quite well. We even had one of our shadow priests in the MT group make top 10 on the meter. Patch 2.0 seems to have made the fight much much less of a gear/consumable check. We were at ~25% with no pots before we decided to mat up and kill him.
Meter is-
1: Destruction Warlock
2-4: Fire Mages
5: Marks hunter
6: Fire Mage
7: Sword(?) Rogue
8: Dagger Rogue
9: Fury Warrior
10: Shadow Priest
11-12: Hunters(Marks I believe)
13: Fire Mage
14: Affliction Warlock
15: Dagger Rogue
First off, Soul Leech owns. 900 point soul leech heals are amazing for keeping your mana topped up. Started with a GSPP and only needed one Major Rejuv pot on top of that. Nether Protection is also handy, but not very reliable. I only saw two occasions where a doom was blocked in 2 hours of attempts, and none on the kill.
First spore group was 4 shadow priests and me. Second group was 5 fire mages, third group was rogues/warriors/hunters, 4th was the other warlocks and a holy priest. 5th-8th were kind of a mish-mash of rogues/warriors/druids/hunters/shaman. We had a lot of healers respec DPS since the shadow priests were able to provide the majority of the healing needed for our MT. It was really funny looking at our healers in blue DPS gear getting ready to tear it up :) Each melee group had a feral druid for imp LotP, which they couldn't rave enough about. Apparently they almost didn't need pots to stay alive thanks to imp LotP.
Aside from breaking a lot of mods, I'm honestly baffled as to why everyone seems to think that 2.0 hurt progression. If not for the holidays hurting attendance, we'd have done this a LONG time ago. DPS(and healing!) in 2.0 is absolutely incredible.
