Lately I've been pondering the usefulness of shamanistic rage, so after some time and a little bit of poking around in Excel, I've come up with a simple spreadsheet showing the effectiveness of shamanistic rage.

The spreadsheet takes weapon speed into account, but has yet to account for windfury. It has a breakdown of the possibilities the skill can involve including different procs per minute, and straight percentages such as 5%, 10%, 50%, etc.

I'm pretty sure it's working correctly cuz the ppm stays static when I change weapon speeds while the %'s differ. The sheet currently uses the newest version of SR which is 15% of total AP for 30 seconds, and the mana gained back is broken down into MP5. Also, there is a column that calculates Judgement of Wisdom and Black Grasp of the Destroyer. So far, the skill looks a bit disappointing but go ahead and see for yourself.

To see the effects of different weapon speeds and attack powers, just change the value in the blue boxes. I take into account that the target is a boss with a 5% chance to dodge and you're dpsing from its behind. This might be a little off so if it is, feel free to give a comment and i'll make a quick edit. I also assume a few things such as 13% hit from talents and that you stormstrike as soon as its up, during the shamanistic rage duration.

I'm not too familiar with file hosting so I just googled a random file host. If there is anything better, feel free to give me a few pointers.

Try http://www.savefile.com/upload.php it works fine for me.

I looked at your sheet, for flurry calcs, I am pretty sure it is weapon speed/1.3, not weapon speed * .7.

For hitting the mob calcs, =(82.4+C7)/100 where did this come from?

DW has a 24% chance to miss a same level guy, and if you are assuming 13% to hit, then that would be
100 -24 + 13 = 89 + any hit gear you had.

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

i added in chance to dodge and chance to miss. assuming no block/parry, i went 100-24% = 76 - 5 = 71 + 13. But looks like it's still wrong, sooo let me make the change to 84 instead of 82.4. and i'll do the flurry change as well.
