I've been looking around, but I can't seem to find anything with the functionality I desire. What I want is an icon to be displayed on my screen for all my abilities that have cooldowns and which are available. There's a lot of mods that grey out your buttons, put an icon and a timer on your screen when the ability is on cooldown, or scroll text when the cooldown finishes, but this is not what I want. I would like to be able to quickly glance at the icons and see what I have available, not see what's unavailable.

Does such a beast exist?

It's doable with Discord Action Bars using the button control functionality. Setup an action bar with all the cooldowns you want to pay attention to. Set one condition based on cooldown available to Show the button, set the other to Hide the button when cooldown is burnt.

I forget the exact syntax for doing it, but I did it (well, I did the opposite, showing icons for abilities that were unavailable and hiding them when the cooldown was clear, but same idea).

Let me make sure I understand exactly what you're asking for before I try and look for it:

You want something that would, for instance, put a "!" over every single available skill/spell you have, instead of putting a "!" over whats NOT available?

I haven't really heard of a mod that shows available cooldowns, but a cool mod that partly does what you describe is CooldownTimers 2

Edit: Didn't read closely enough. Ignore this :(

You know how some mods put icons on your screen (not a bar, but a floating icon) when a spell is on cooldown? Or how CountDoom puts up an icon showing a debuff is active?

I want an icon to be displayed for each cooldown ability that is available. You can glance at it to see which options are available: it just seems more intuitive to look to see what tools I do have than don't have.

Wouldn't that result in, well, overinformation? So many things you never use will always be up...

well, you're not a rogue, but if you're comfortable with lua, you could modify my mod, discodice, turn the SnD, Rupture, and Expose bars off, and just leave the newly-implemented buff bar on. I use it in both pvp and pve. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

all buffs available:

vanish and bladeflurry used:

you can replace the taletns/skills in the .lua file towards the bottom with warlock-appropriate ones. If you want the file you can get it at http://www.discofiend.com/wow/DiscoDice.zip

I want the Holy Grail of Fire Mage Mods - something that will tell me how long before Imp Scorch debuff expires. :(

I don't think there is one. :(

I have an addon called CEnemyCastbar (I think its Natur's?) and I'm gonna poke around with LUA a bit to see what I can come up with.

EDIT : If you have CEnemyCastbar go to apprx line 516 of localization.lua (search for -- Naturfreund | Mage Afflictions) and insert this line

["Scorch"]

[top] {t

30.0, icontex="Spell_Fire_SoulBurn"};

Try that out and tell me what happens, I don't have a mage to test this with.

EDIT 2 : Hmm, I'm still not 100% sure on how this works but by having a bar that just displays a 30sec timer everytime a scorch lands should do it right? Edited to be a bit closer.

EDIT 3 : Oh wait I'm retarted there's already an event in Natur's for it. Try my thing and see if anything meaningful happens I guess.

The problem seems to be that beyond a 5 stack WoW doesn't fire off an event in the log for something like an Improved Scorch stack or Sunder. So you can get perfect timers up until the 6th time you lay it on to refresh it, from there who knows.

For the OP, yes discord action bars would let you setup a bar on screen and then hide the various buttons that are NOT on cooldown. Honestly though I can't imagine any class that would require so many buttons as to not have this information simply on the main action bars - most classes only have a handful of buttons that even have cooldowns.

Think oCD is exactly what you need. It's in the Ace SVN archive somewhere. It displays a list with visual timer bars running down of every abbility that's on cooldown.

Flexbar will take some configuration but it's the best thing for what you want.

oCD is good, but I find it tends to be a tad buggy.
Cooldown is also in the Ace SVN and works like a charm.

I think it's pretty much impossible to do in group play without a synced mod running amongst all mages, but the basic logic is:

On Scorch cast:
If Imp Scorch applied refresh timer
Else if Imp Scorch resisted do nothing
Else if Scorch is not resisted, if no Imp Scorch resisted message reset timer, else do nothing

However, I don't *believe* you get messages when other people's Scorches start/fail, so everyone with the talent would need to run a mod like this which communicated with the other mods in the group to get an accurate timer.

As far as I know if you could get NECB to trigger on the spell hitting instead of the debuff it would work (I think it automatically syncs)
