+4%multi-shot dmg > 1% crit?

I guess the topic says it all... dont know anyone dont the maths or tested it. just want some advice on this matter.

If Multi-shot is 25% of your total damage, then +4%multi-shot dmg ~= 1% crit. IANAH, but I doubt Multi does that much damage for you.

All you'd have to do is look at how much 1% crit effects you by looking at your RAP, then simply compare it to the 25% bonus from multi-shot (with the 4% added ofc).

To the OP, it surely it depends on how much RAP you have?

Yeah -- 1 crit ~= 1.3% dps increase. Run recap for a couple hours and calculate it for your build / gear.

PvP or PvE? PvP, the answer is pretty obvious (anything that buffs Multishot damage is great). PvE, well, you'll probably want to run with something that boosts your overall sustained DPS, and I'm pretty sure 1% crit is better for that.

Hm, some quick math I did with my spreadsheet using Full cycles with Ash--

RAP Crit Hit
1617 +24.34 +7 (574.09, Template)
1617 +25.34 +7 (584.40, +1 crit) ~1.017% DPS increase
1617 +24.34 +7 (578.35, +4% MS) ~1.007% DPS increase

RAP Crit Hit
1400 +24.34 +7 (538.41, Template)
1400 +25.34 +7 (544.04, +1 crit) ~1.010% DPS increase
1400 +24.34 +7 (534.43, +4% MS) ~0.992% DPS increase

RAP Crit Hit
1800 +24.34 +7 (607.54, Template)
1800 +25.34 +7 (618.43, +1 crit) ~1.018% DPS increase
1800 +24.34 +7 (612.13, +4% MS) ~1.008% DPS increase

The MS bonus doesn't scale as well with RAP so +Crit seems to be more beneficial to me.

Personally, I've been using my PVP-gloves for PVP for that little added multi-burst and GS-gloves for PVE.
