Hi first time posting long time reading these forums.
We are a guild that has killed 7 bosses in Nax and Cthun etc just want to see others opinions about one thing...
I have read somewhere on these forums about C'thun starting at negative armor and that if you sunder him his armopr actually goes up due to some way the game calculates the deduction of the armor from a non negative source or something. I am a melee class and it seems to be true because my hits seem to be bigger before sunders.
(btw I did a search for sunder and/or C'thun but got a LOT of results but none I found pertaining to my question, sorry if it is an old topic)

I think you could use some guild coordination :)
We always have a Fury war on the way applying Sunders, and we Sunder just before a Weakened state as well. I think it's just a stupid rumour.

Never heard that but I do know that when our warriors forget to sunder him our dps goes down, and alot. So if you ask me yes sunder him.

i'm pretty sure i do those weakass, pre-sunder ~900 backstabs.. and then with 5 sunders (and hell, i even use swarmguard for weakens here) i do the usual size backstabs.
quite sure that he's just the same as any other boss, but i guess i might be wrong.

Build up enough rage, sunder some low level mob once, does your attack deal more damage? If answer is yes, negative armour does not increase damage reduction.
Seriously, this has to be one of the sillier things I've heard. Tell people that if they don't want to use their rage on Sunder they should at least use a good excuse for it.

Not that I dont think its a silly question, but the assumption was that he had a negative armor amount to begin with and sunder working kinda messed up in that situation. So won't do any good to try it on a low lvl mob.

This was my exact thought when reading this, with sunders fairyfire and badge of the swarmguard I got my new record bs (using critline to keep track).

5x Sunder, Faerie Fire, and CoR are pretty standard in my guilds raids, not hard to keep a 5 stack on him from pull -> kill either. No point not doing it, even it it's a marginal DPS increase.

If you get sundered up by stuff your armor stops at zero and it will read 5000 - 8000, so there's no negative armor.

I doubt this. Sunder him.
Alternately, bring actual proof. Show me a parse of 100 attacks on C'Thun with 0 Sunder and 100 attacks with 5 Sunders, and if the latter shows less damage, then hey, you're right.
