Does anyone have experience with a guild running all available 40 man raid instances as scheduled guild events every week? That is a guild that is in Naxx and still does MC as a weekly scheduled guild-only event? Did it work, or did it burn out the members?

I think the real question is why would you want to do this? For mains, at least...

1 day MC + BWL
1 day AQ40
1-5 Days Naxxramas!

It's pretty doable, and I'm sure if you had people that still wanted to go to the hell hole of MC (even if it was to gear alts up, it could just be done in BWL / AQ40) that it would be possible. I just don't understand why you'd want to.

Motivation aside, I am wondering if it has been successfully done before and if the arrangement was sustainable. I personally fully agree that MC sucks and that after well over a year I don't exactly want to see it again but there are others in my guild that still want to run it. I am just wondering if that is a viable idea now that we want to get serious about Naxx.

We sustain 6-7 nights of 40man raiding a week with <55 active raiders (albeit all very dedicated hardcore ones) so I guess it would be doable. We don't do MC though.

Do you mean a full run of MC for the epics? If your raid team needs MC epics, are you sure you're ready for Naxx?

If you're running it for Nexus, Ingot's or a chance at (another) TF, then sure, but it'd be much kinder on your player base to make it a PuG run, and get the majority of the raid from outside. This way avoiding forcing people to run a long, and boring instance, for no loot other than "guild bank loot".

We don't run guild MC's anymore, but along with other guilds on our server, we now do PuG MC's, which we obviously try and get as many guildies as possible, but people in non-raiding guilds flock to the chance at MC epics, and it's an easy way to fill numbers.

Death and Taxes did this through AQ40. No idea if they still do.

We have a large number of active accounts (120 or so last i checked), and currently still run MC while also running BWL, AQ40, and Naxx. The MC runs, however, are largely the province of our casual players, alts, and core raiders who still need that one elusive last item from MC (T2 pants, bindings, and various and sundry other things like ToEPs, ACLGs in my case, etc). At some point in the near future we're planning on finally shunting it off the main raid schedule, and running it in a semi-PuG fashion.

If your raid team needs MC epics, are you sure you're ready for Naxx?
At least one of our tanks is wearing T2 or better in every slot... but blue pants, due to absolutely horrendous luck with drops (we've only ever had three Legplates of Wrath drop, according to our DKP records... and not much better for Might, at 4 drops).

Indeed; its much less about MC epics and more about the last gems Rag has been holding out on. We tried doing MC on our de facto off day (Saturday) and it was simply disasterous; there was really little to no focus on anyones behalf. We do late night Magmadar runs for a few goodies, but largely, we don't have any hope of getting MC back on the table ever again, especially now that BWL has assumed its position on Saturday. On the bright side, its giving us ample encouragement to look into Ouro after downing C'Thun.

EDIT: For an idea of how we divide our time these days, we're closing in on having the requisite 5 Naxx bosses on a single day clear; however, worse case scenario is usually 2 days for them, spend the rest of the 2nd day clearing up to Emps dead. Rest of the time is devoted to progression, which is C'Thun as of late.

I think it depends on your members really.

Setting aside 1-2 days for progression, can you do the rest of the content in the time allowed?

Day 1: MC
Day 2: BWL
Day 3: AQ40
Day 4: Naxx
Day 5: Naxx
Day 6: Naxx

Can work out IF you can manage AQ40 in one raid night (it's 4-5 hour clear for us which is dicey on a 3 hour/night schedule) and IF you can manage to pack everything you learn one week into the first day the second week so that you have solid progression time available. At the moment my guild can do 5 Naxx bosses in one night, but it certainly wasn't learned that way- we have 2-3 days a week dedicated to reclearing the stuff we'd beaten but that wasn't clearly on farm (Which we still have set aside, we have another 3 bosses to clear later this week before we get to our learning content.

Could you do it? Sure. You won't get the best progressionin Naxx though, especially if you have to spend more than 3 nights clearing old content. We've dropped MC and BWL is on the chopping block any week we need more progression time.

All kinda depends on what your focus is. I estimate we've got about 9 weeks to expansion... I'd like to be at 4hm or beyond by then and MC during raid time is a direct contradiction to that goal. Chop chop.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news.
Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.
Pick up a rifle and follow the yellow line. You'll know when the test starts.

I believe Death and Taxes does, if you'd like an example =P

There's certainly time in the week for it, but the incentive may not be there for every guild. To each their own.

First star to the right, and straight on till morning.

We do AQ40 in 1 day. MC+BWL in 1 day. Then we have 4 days for Naxx. Day 1 is Noth + Raz + Spider Wing. Day 2 is Abom Wing. Day 3 and 4 are progression.

We actually do everything yes.

We do a full naxx run, a full bwl run, a full aq40 run, a full mc run AND a partial run for geddon binding. Bwl and the full mc run are mostly alts, and about half alts/casuals in aq40. Partial mc run for bindings is usually a speed clear by vets.

We've always been a very strange mix of hardcore players and casual friends and family mixxed in, so it works for us where it might not work for other guilds.

I'll be alright when we get to pass out time.
