Various mob areas in WoW will always have a minimum number of mobs up (usually three). I remember going after a few locations for AQ gate opening farming. The main purpose of those locations is to provide help for the various low-level grinding quests.

The main three that I remember dealing with are the windmill in Westfall of Trappers/Looters (net and linen farming), the southern island in Loch Modan with crocolisks (Light Leather farming), and one of the islands in Loch Modan with a quest widget on it.

I'm mostly wondering where more of these locations are, and what's the highest level one that people have seen.

The buzzard patch in Westfall was the best for farming light feathers before they removed it :(

Boars in Stonefield Farm/Elwynn respawn in another part of the field as soon as they are killed. Good for leveling up weapon skills.

Didn't they remove a lot of those infinite spawns like in 1.10?

I was sad since made light feather farming so easy. They were just intended to be there back when everyone was a lowbie and there wasn't enough mobs for people to kill.

I need to do something useless.

Many of the gnoll camps in wetlands are infinite spawn. Its awsome for grinding a low level char with twinked out gear :D

Almost every camp out there is infinite spawn, common ones for people to setup at are near the entrace from Loch Modan, or near the slime blobs in the northish part of the zone.

Light Feathers are still ridiculously easy to obtain if you go to the Harpy nest in Northwestern Barrens. They can all be killed in one shot and the drop rate seems around 25% for me.

Yeah, it's nice if you are horde, but for alliance going all the way to barrens or 1k needles seems like quite a run for just few feathers.

Transportation isn't particularly an issue for Mages.

I was always farming my feathers from moonkins near darkshore. If you can get a portal to Darnassus it is pretty close and fast and their drop rate is quite good.

The most common places where you can kill continually have been nerfed to provide much less loot. This is due to the farmers abusing those locations.

Blood Elf camp in Azshara
Ogres in Tanaris
Harpies in Feralas
Satyrs in Felwood
Tyrs Hand in EPL
and so forth...

If you are looking to stand in one place and kill non-stop fast the only one I am aware of is if you stand in the corner behind the dockmaster in Elwynn Forest. His respawn time is about 30 seconds - but he is only level 10.

For high level you could try a static named mob like Zaeldarr the Outcast in the Undercroft in EPL - but he has guards with him. (dont know his respawn time - and he doesnt drop great loot)

One of my favorites for leveling weapon skills is to guard the farm in arathi basin & skill up on the rats. It's also a nice way for a warrior to keep a full bar of rage for when people do attack.

I don't know if it's quite "infinite", but the incendosaurs in the cauldron (near Thorium Point) respawn insanely fast. When I was collecting scales to turn in for rep (yay Heart of Fire transmute), I could just walk in a big circle killing them, and I had corpses stacked 3 deep or so on the spawn points before they started to disappear.

Nah its not infinite, we had the place fully cleared out and waiting on respawns when I was there with a rogue helping him out.

Infinitie defined when the total count of mobs goes below a certain number a new one instantly respawns (if the mob count doesn't drop below this number they still respawn at the slow normal rate).

I need to do something useless.

Just make sure to get it to yourself. Solo, I could easily do the circle and not lack for respawns. If two of us showed up, we might have slight delays on new spawns, but nothing major. But get 3 in there and it gets quite annoying waiting on respawns.

Yes, the incendisaur cave was changed recently. I think their rare drops went to crap as a result of it, but you can ge scales hand over fist now.

That's also partially because skinnable mobs take longer before they despawn than mobs that can't be skinned.

The harpies in the cave in TN are infinite, and the place is tiny, so not much running around. Used it to get about 1400 vibrant plumes before I found out you'd surpass the reputation limit on them after like 120.

Yeah, the infinite spawn on those islands on Loch Modan makes doing that Bingle's Tools quest a pain. I also remember as a young dwarf hunter with a slightly more advance paladin working those wetlands gnoll camps and constantly having problems looting everything we killed because stuff kept spawning.

I don't think there's any high level infinite spawn spots anymore. Undead at Lake Kel'Theril in Winterspring have a very strong respawn rate and there's a lot of them, so it's about the closest I know (and there's an Alliance quest npc undead there that does have infinite respawn, pops maybe 10 seconds after being killed, but it drops no loot).

When the AQ gates event was going on, and guilds on our server held contests for items such as Linen Bandages, etc, I farmed this spot in Westfall that had infinitely spawning level 10 NPC's that died instantly to an arcane explosion.

Needless to say I spent like 3-4 days farming nonstop, farmed 25,000 linen bandages and won first place in a loot anything you want in MC contest, and took my alt paladin there and geared him out quite nicely =).

As for actually important farming at level 60, I highly doubt there are any useful infinite spawns left in the game though =/.

I first became aware of an infinite nightbane spawn point in duskwood. Farmed nearly the entirety of medium leather there for the war effort, and these 6 infinite spawns are all within 20 yds for AoE.

Noobing it up on Mal'Ganis since '06

I think you want to read again. Carefully.

The Dor'Danil Barrow Den in Ashenvale has those stealthing, hordeflagged undeads that are quite a pain to kill and respawn pretty damn fast as well. Going in there alone on an alliance lowlevel character is hell.
