Not infinite but with a very decent respawn rate is the Terrorweb tunel. I got 2 boe epics and 3 or 4 blues while farming 300 Cryptfiend parts for the Frost Resist enchant.
They also drop lots of different kinds of spider silk that can fetch a good price and some decent vendor trash.
Can't wait to go back there for the 2nd enchant. ;)

I know the boars on the road from Redridge into the Burning Steppes were on an inifinite respawn.
Too many hours spent there for the AQ opening just spamming tab and autoattacking. It's quite a sight to see though.

How do you deal with the big guy in there? Is he soloable for a well-geared rogue? I had the same bright idea for farming insignia stuff there, but (as a shaman) had my ass handed to me a couple of times by the big guy and stuck to killing the guys outside and then farming for larval acid while awaiting respawns (I ended up mostly doing bone fragments, since it's pretty easy to farm non-stop in andorhal).

The Gnomeregan Evacuees are insta spawn, or at least the spawn of them next to the Horde teleporter are.

He's pretty easy for warrior or hunter at least, so rogues shouldn't have any problems. Casters are in trouble with his silencing web.
But you used to be able to kite the Nerubian Overseer to Tirion Fordring, who didn't like spiders. ;)

I saw a priest solo the Nerubian Overseer by simply shielding up and keeping him shackled. My T2-geared hunter on the other had no real option to deal with the scarab attack and my pet was eaten fast. I could have kited him I guess but there was no point.
I generally kept a real good track of him while killing the fairly fast (but not infinitely by any means) spawning lesser mobs and going outside into the village when the tunnel was cleared.

Hmm, he stays at range so you don't even need him to aggro pet. There's an added bonus when pet is alive, you can fd+trap him when you are low on health and bandage.

He is quite easy to solo for a rogue with AQ+ gear, without even using long cooldowns and Evasion should be enough if needed. Just be carefull with adds since it's quite easy to get 1 or 2 and remember that he is stunnable.
Probably you are even better using full Bloodfang due to it's high dodge (to avoid his annoying scarabs) and healing proc.

Razorgore's room :D
If you're trying to level weapon skills I think thats been covered well, if you're looking to find spots to grind XP to 70 fast at least for first few levels quite a few instances look very appealing and all you need is 12 minutes worth of mobs in there, then pop out, reset and do it again.
With a talent respec I suspect I'll be able to solo quite a bit in BRS right at L60 (unless my calculations are wrong I'll be doing ~700 DPS in a new fire build at 60 as long as we can go straight down trees and the 32-41 talent levels aren't limited to 61-70 spending only or have absurd survivablity in a new Frost setup with still ~450-500 DPS).
We are going to have a significant enemy world shortage though unless we all instantly have access to a lot of new outdoor realms with lots of enemies which is why I'm looking the instance route. The 60 to 70 run will be interesting on high pop servers, the "average player" is going to be in for a lot of heartache as they probably can't solo the 2-3 mob packs inside of instances and all of the world enemies will be dying the moment they spawn.

Yes, the Overseer is definitely soloable as a rogue. As is the prophet in silithus as a combat rogue :) Both of them drop a pretty decent ammount of parts/texts which is why I kill them any time I seem them. Sometimes evasion is needed however for the overseer, if the scarabs do too much damage.

The raptor nest in the barrens just northwest of Northwatch Hold (there's a horde quest item there, stolen silver or something?) has 3 spawns at all times. Good for relearning skinning.

It's even better if you can get somebody to start the "Test of endurance" for you - they can keep on smashing the crates until they turn in the quest.

I may be wrong (it's been a long time, plus it's hard to compare since silithus isn't that hardcore farmed anymore), but I think that the first few days of silithus when they added cenarion hold the twilight camps were infinite spawn (not sure, just seemed that they spawned way, way faster for the first week or so than they do now), if so it's possible that bliz might set temporary infinite spawn flags for trash in the first couple zones of BC for the first couple weeks to avoid (some) the issues we're all worrying about.
Even if I'm wrong about silithus, I hope they do something in terms of spawn rate, 'cause otherwise it's going to be instance or never level, and I always liked solo'ing/doing world quests leveling.
Sorry for slight off-topicness.

at least the north most silithus camp definitely is not an infinite spawn. one rogue can keep it pretty much clear. 2 or more is overkill and you wait for mobs.

Some, or perhaps all, zones have their spawn rates determined by the number of people in the zone. This change was made due to the newbie zones not having enough mangy wolves and all that when a surge of new characters were made. It may be that all zones, or at least special zones that get a lot of new content added, have this mechanism in place to ensure there are enough mobs to go around.

Something I have always wondered -- is there a set of mobs that is "convenient" for leveling thrown or alternate ranged weapon skill (crossbow, gun, etc)? Ideally something that moves slow enough that I (as a warrior) could get 2 attacks (or more) on before it died, or I had to go melee.
I tried leveling thrown weapons up a while ago for grins, but using Elwynn Forest Defias and gnolls as punching bags after getting a mage to AI my warrior got old pretty fast (though the thrill of one-shotting them with a throwing knife made it tolerable for longer than I expected). I'm nowhere near 300 though, and I've seen enough "interesting" stats on throwing weapons to suspect that a really good item might come up in TBC (epic throwing knives?! likeomg).
(Most absurd weapon skill-up exercise ever: using leftover Blasted Lands Cerebral Cortex Compound and the blacksmithing Signet of Expertise that summons a 1h epic mace to level 1h mace skill from 200-305 in Searing Gorge...)

You've already mentioned the croc island but another leather location is the very north end of Redridge, by the orcs. The boars there consist of approximately five spawn locations spread out up and down the broken path. During our server's war effort, we brought teams of 10 people (5 mains, 5 alts), at least half were basically skinning non-stop while the stronger players stood on top of a spawn and oneshot goretusks as they spawned. Rank 1 wingclip works great, and from a few positions a hunter can keep 2 or 3 of the positions constantly clear with autoshot. You also happen to get goretusk livers and the other assorted ingredients for Redridge Goulash, though with the orcs so close it's hazardous for a lowbie. At any given time three of the five spawn points have a boar up. For what it's worth, my Paladin alt skinner levelled from about 10 to 25 solely on those boars and later, wetlands raptors (which aren't as good but give a different leather).
It got to the point where we simply couldn't skin fast enough to keep up. It was pretty great, but absolutely mind numbing, the skinning teams had to take breaks. The spawns are spread out such that you can't really dominate it alone, so you need to take at least 3-4 friends. We all had macros to auto-destroy the vendor trash that we shift-clicked as well.

Stage 2 Onyxia is pretty traditional for this, or Shazzrah.
Otherwise you're probably going to have to rely on the help of other people tanking while you shoot, or just going to newbie areas and one-shotting a few thousand mangy wolves or something.

For allies, they should still be able to be kited into the fortress to let the npc's tank them, they generally respawn faster than what the servant can kill, and if you're about to get aggro, i.e when too many npc has died, just run out of combat and come back in to restart your throwing/crossbowing/bowing/gunning. Now if there was something to press my shoot button so I could go afk :(

When I got my Rhok'Delar on my hunter, I had to learn Bow skills and kited a Servant to Stormwind and let Bolvar tank him for me. Left my hunter on auto-shot and would come back every 10 minutes to hit a key to prevent AFKing out. Interupted some poor fellow trying to do the Onyxia quest, but he just whipped out some a weapon and started leveling it, and called his guild in to level their weapons as well. By the time I went to bed, about 40 people were in the room pummeling the Servant.

As a warrior, this is what I did to skill up guns and bows all the way to 300 (as Horde). I went to Durotar, and started farming the harpies just east of the main N-S road. I used the cheapest ammo and minimum RAP (about 190) so I'd get as many shots as possible on the 200HP caster harpies. I also buffed my Int as high as conveniently possible (pots or mage buff and RFD has some good +int gear that's easily farmed). As I started racking up the kills, I got "upgrades" to my ranged weapons like the Rust-covered Blunderbuss http://www.thottbot.com/?i=322 or Cadet's Bow http://www.thottbot.com/?i=968. With these phat weapons, I was able to get 5-7 shots in before the harpies ran out of mana and started meleeing (30 damage hits and up to 66 on crit if I remember right). The non-casters I would kite for 2 or 3 shots before they got into melee range. If my addons are to be trusted, it takes about 2000 shots to get up to 300, 300 or so of those just stuck at 299.

Go to gnomeregan for skill ups.
Simply shoot a mob from across the track and it'll evade bug.
