I've recently become a big fan of the ace mods, rebuilt my entire UI around it works great but there is the constant issue of updating them - therefore if I understand the subject correctly, people made the SVN utilities, set your list of mods, hit update and it checks and downloads new versions.

Anyhow, I'm having a terrible time setting it up. I'm currently using RapidSVN and I'm rather clueless, I can't seem to find any documentation so I'm blindly clicking on buttons : /

Anyhow I can create working bookmarks via Add Existing Repository- ie: http://svn.wowace.com/wowace/trunk/BigWigs

but now what...

Haste is the devil...

Hmmm - made a bit of progress, changed the download directory to an empty folder and rapidSVN download the big wigs files into it but this doesn't help me update my mods unless I delete the directory everytime I want to check for new updates, am I missing something here again?

Also I have to manually input the directory location each time I check that mod?

Haste is the devil...

Stop using the SVN. They don't want anyone who isn't an active developer using it; I'm surprised you can even get into it at this point, since it was supposed to be permission-only by now.

Just use WinAceUpdater. It does what you want, and you won't have to fight with trying to use something designed for source control to do version updates.

Clearly law school has done wonders for me.

I've been running tortoise and it's not been too much trouble to right click on each folder and request an update, but it's tedious enough that I only do it something breaks or when I notice a comment on this forum that a mod has a new feature I want to try. My problem lately has been that wowace changed the path for the svn from /root/trunk to /wowace/trunk and the only way I can find to change it in tortoise is to delete each folder, recreate it and redownload the files.

Anyway, thanks Flubber. I'll check would winaceupdater tonight. Sounds like it will save me a lot of trouble.

Shouldn't this go on the wowace forums?

I'd say that given the amount of wowace pimping that goes on here normally that this thread isn't out of place. I know I switched to a lot of ace2 mods based on comments in the enormous UI thread on this forum. I'm sure there are an awful lot of people that read these boards (whether they post or not) that will see this thread before they see the post on the wowace site. In fact, I just visted the wowace site again today and saw that they wanted people to back off their svn. I'm a software developer by trade, so using the svn comes naturally to me since I'm using source safe daily to "get latest," but I understand if they want to reserve it for developers.
