It's already implemented - quest items are currently destroyed when you abandon the quest. I tested it yesterday.

There's another post from Tseric/Blizzard relating to XP turnins can be found at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...09422187&sid=1

The text, for those of you with restricted access:
---------------------
XP Gain from level 60 going into the expansion is still something that is being adjusted. The devs are well aware of many methods and routes by which players are 'stockpiling' XP and don't want to see arbitrary bursts of experience simply because someone wanted to get to 61 first. The leveling curve is being minded carefully for the expansion and already, we've made some bug fixes to that end (players no longer gain rested XP at the level cap).

It is quite possible that some of the methods mentioned and others may be eliminated, devalued or possibly left as is. The particular decisions have not been made as of yet, but they have been discussed.

Just a bit of a heads up for folks who might be hoarding AQ turnins. We're watching. ;)
---------------------

I've decided not to spend extra time grinding repeatable quest stuff. I will have 20 completed -regular- quests in my log, though, as I don't believe they will remove XP from those. Anything repeatable that I already have isn't going to be turned in, until expansion, just in case.

haha can't add anymore to that statement. Some people dread going to AQ40 now...

Anyways, 60-70 should be a fresh experience for everyone equally instead of hording quest items to get an immediate jump over others. Looking forward to it.

Gotta love the vague, cover-your-rear, answer.

I'd probably turn in my lord insignia's and artifacts now, just on the difficulty it'll be getting anyone to consider doing Skeram on day 1. (Despite the fact that everyone is all gung-ho about it now). However, it's been suggested even if they remove the XP from the Insignia & Artifact turnin quests, they should attach gold rewards to help make up for the cruddy gold drops in AQ40. So now, I've got it in the back of my head that should that occur, it's still worth having them stockpiled.

I had never done the Glyph Chasing/brain collection quests in Silithus on this character, so I took a couple of hours with a three-man party and did them yesterday. I was still topping out the path to Revered, so I didn't want to do the turn-ins until I was on the home stretch. I abandoned the quests to make some room...

*poof*

I might have screamed a little.

Kinda weird, considering the Shadows of Luclin added AA XP, and level 65 wasn't until Planes of Power :)

But I get the drift :)
Oops, you knew what I meant :p But yea, I logged out the day the new expansion came out and solo'd a spider to ding. The rest of the level wasn't quite that easy.

This has been repeatedly shown to be a complete and utter assumption. Nobody knows how long it will take, nor can anyone say with any certainty how long it will take.
And you seriously underestimate the drive of some players. There will be people who play this for 16 hours straight (at least) for a week straight, just to grind out the levels. They've said before that they have no intention of artifically extending the life of the game through a level grind, and from what I've been reading so far, it seems that getting a level a day is not an unreasonable expectation if youve got 9 to 10 hours a day to sink into the game.

Dayne it has nothing to do with estimations of players. Yes, some people very well might take under a week to reach 70. The point is though, that you don't know this, I don't know it, and Gaspode doesn't know it with any certainty of actually being possible. His statement makes it sound as though he has it on good authority that this is how long it will take, but the truth is that he is just making assumptions. The Devs/CMs are still continuining to tell people that the XP curve is still under review. Making any statement about how long it will take is akin to guessing as to the optimal raid composition at lvl 70 in the Black Citadel.

If you've already abandoned the Dartol's rod quest, you get to keep it. Otherwise it will probably disappear. The same thing happened with my crystal of zin'malor. Now I gotta keep that stupid quest just so I can keep my awesome death trinket.

May have missed if this was posted earlier, but I've been saving up Timbermaw turn ins. They used to give 550xp and 50 rep per 5 feathers/beads. Tested this last night in the beta, they now give 75 rep per 5 and zero xp.
