Guildmate just got his tonight, beta servers are up.

Only the US ones. Not sure if my University accomadation net line is going to like downloading the beta server, but seeing as in theory i have a key, i'll look forward to it popping up soon.

That and i hope our photo got some keys. Anyway this was to be expected with the release of the Hunter talents and spells.

Still haven't sent the beta contest keys, not sure about the guild ones?

Is it just me or does the link to the PC Beta download broken while the mac one works?

I got emailed about 2 months ago by Aeus and Thundgot (EU CMs) saying TRC had 10 beta keys (went up to 20 later, not sure why). Either way, we presumed this was due to our work on the realm and guild relations forums, and Blizzard have stated to the EU in the past through CMs that good work on their forums can lead to beta invites, talks with developers etc etc.

I've seen nothing on either WoW site to suggest Beta has started, but as i said above as the Hunter talents are live on alpha it isn't far away.

I'm pretty sure that has said beta for over a month... I remember seeing a "Beta" download page that asked me for an Alpha key.

well, as the only EU rep alive on this board at 3am UK time, i just checked with a couple of guildmates and friends from my old servers who enjoy late night AV, and none of us have recieved beta keys yet. So we're presuming NA keys are going out at the moment and EU ones will follow in the next week. Also as it is mid-evening in the US you guys shouldn't worry yourselves about it either, wait until tomorrow and enjoy reading these boards whilst corpse running (it's prime raid/Lost time read the forums at work tomorrow! ^^).

Lost was a great episode tonight, lots of interesting questions arise again.


Good news on the beta keys, that means the devs are on track for a Q4 release.

Well, i don't have a television license at the moment nor does my connection like downloading largeish files, so all i've seen of Season 3 is the preview on the ABC site.

But yes, the best news about this information is that it suggests a Q4 release. Now if only i could advance order an English Collector's edition...

Yay for no more NDA, my "friend" is gonna be happy to be able to discuss stuff without trying to remember what is widely known and what is still only known by testers ^^.

There were no premades in alpha. Dunno if there are in beta.

I have access as an Alpha tester with my details, although they just wiped the EU forums. I imagine the newly invited people will get their keys sent over shortly ;)

There is a premade "option" but it's greyed out. At least it was a few hours ago.

Does anyone know an alternate download source? The blizzard downloader hasn't worked for me in some time.

Question: are there beta forums that all people can read? (but not post on, like in the WoW beta)

Vetinari: Atm it seems the beta forums are still confidential, which means you can't access them unless your account is upgraded. They might make them free to view later on tho.

Groglox: Alternate source doesn't exist, you'll have to wait until some sites start hosting it, but since it's a beta it might take longer than the usual patches

As for premades, I'd rather not see a lot of them. I'd like premade to be limited to getting lvl 60 paladins blood elves and draenei shamans, so people can test them out in arenas and pve, but don't really need people trying out lvl 60 classes they don't play for a beta test imo, test server is enough to do that.

edit: found the beta site, but the GB download is dead in the water. No bother ^^
