Can you notice a difference in dps, though? One that would matter?
Can you comment on slam too? Does it still have its old flaws?
- Um, yes. With less rage we definitely do less DPS =). I still had no problem slaughtering mobs that were my level. It just wasn't as ridiculous as it is in retail at the moment (Seriously... when's the last time you went and grinded level 60s in retail with full gear? It's a joke).
- A few pushes ago I tried improved slam. For 2 points, it's not bad. You can time your slams immediately after your autoattack and get some good bonus damage. I /suggested to remove the global cooldown, but I don't know if they have. If they do--it'd be very powerful.
What about slam resetting the melee swing timer?
I didn't check. Under normal circumstances I was fighting multiple mobs so most of my rage was burned on bloodthirst and whirlwind anyway. I'll check tonight or tomorrow.
Well, hell. So the Spellfire (+arcane/fire), Shadoweave (+frost/shadow) and Mooncloth (+healing) specializations announced on wowexposed and found in the Curse database didn't actually pan out? That's kind of a pity.
At Veridian Dynamics, we can even make radishes so spicy, people can't eat them. But we're not, because people can't eat them.
I wasn't sure if it was implemented in beta or not yet, but has anyone been able to try crusader strike? Is it one single physical damage hit like warrior strikes or is it seperated between holy and physical damage like SoC?
Will Avenger's shield break a polymorph like I would assume?
Will the shield daze any 5 man bosses or elites?
Does it seem that unyielding faith has been patch with regards to pvp effectiveness? To my knowledge the jury is still out on it actually working 10% of the time ever, pve or pvp, so I'm wondering if it has been addressed at all. Is there any holy resist gear itemization at all, praying no?
thank you and I hope I don't sound like too much of a noob.
Doubt anyone can answer this question relating to enchanting:
Someone mentioned a few pages back that enchants now have a Ilvl built into the enchant to prevent twinking.
My question then is will this retroactively affect enchants?
Having spent an absurb amount on low lvl twinking, are all these going to be wiped out? Again, I doubt that anyone with twinks transferred to find out this answer.
Thanks to all the alpha/beta testers providing all the insight gathered in this thread.
Blue posted a day or two ago, that current enchants will not be changed, due to how much has been spent on them and it would be unfair to do so at this time. However BC enchants will have a level restriction.
I'll try to go through the last few pages item by item that I know the answer to.
I think they can make Thanksgiving.
There are 18 slot tailored bags.
Quick Recovery affects any and all healing effects: heals, bandages, crusader, rogue 2pc bonus..
Backstab X is 150%+255 without Opp
XP Per level is something like 325, 475, 500, 525, 550..
In regards to the low level caster itemization issue, MAYBE. There are a slew of new green "of the..." mods that include spellcrit and spelldamage. If these trickle down to lower level greens then you might have some really nice stuff. I don't know if they will.
There is no runecloth mechanism for raising Silvermoon faction for Cockatrice(now Hawkstriker?) mounts.
Mutilate requires two daggers.
Haven't tested poison with windfury. I really doubt they stack.
Tailoring specialties are not in.
Blacksmithing epic recipes are from all those sources: world drops, dungeons, and trainers. Some are also gained "randomly" by discovering while skilling up.

Crusader strike? I know of the spell from paladins pre-world release but otherwise I'm not sure what you are referring to. Are you asking about Avenging Wrath?
Yes, AS will break polymorph, sap or other crowd control methods because it does damage on hit. (Which means a protection pally can stand at the back of the raid and throw Shields if they get bored.)
The shield dazed every elite mob it hit in and out of the instances. I believe it dazed the bosses but I can't swear to it at the moment.
I haven't picked up Unyielding Faith recently (too many other new talents to dump points into) so I can't comment.
There has been no holy resist itemization that I have seen so far. I've seen green Arcane Resist items almost equivalent to Naxx Frost Resist gear however.

They're still adding things. If we go by what's in the current beta, there will be a lot of suprised people when they try to level to 68.
Paladins just got a new 41 point talent, Crusader strike.
Which tree got the Strike? I assume Ret, if so, is 2% crit with JoCrusader still in?
Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'
So would it be safe to say that I should keep blacksmithing while leveling? It's proven almost entirely useless so I was planning to switch to something else. Are the craftable items enough better than items gotten pre-expansion and from normal questing/grinding and easy enough to make that they would be worth crafting as I level?
In raw numbers, can anyone give examples of what damage a backstab does compared to the closest level of mutilate?
In other words, are you going to use backstab or mutilate?
1. Is the felguard taunt the same as the VW one? (ie, generates some small threat)
2. Do rogue poisons stack with the shaman WindFury totem weapon buff? (as it currently does not)
3. Is there an elemental shaman who can comment on DPS potential, longevity, usefullness of the new talents and totems?
4. The CM previews months ago kept saying that players would feel immensely more powerful - is that the perception now? Do the changes feel "epic" in comparison to the retail end-state?
5. Are shaman elemental totems tied to the totem - does killing the totem kill the elemental? Are they worthwhile throwing down in a fight?
Fair warning- waiting for my installer to complete so my info is based on the old versions.
1) According to Warlocks I spoke with, yes, but as his dps is noticibly higher he holds aggro considerably better. Pretty squishy though, and the devs hinted that scaling from gear (not in last I heard) and/or improvement to his stats might be on the way.
2) Sadly not.
3) Elemental is as usual, the big brother to Enhance. Most of this data is from other people (I liked DW so much I rarely respecced). High dps (fairly close to t3 geared magess, spiking higher with LO) with a noticible endurance buff. However, the sustainability was only through the quicker 5 man bosses even with the massively pumped mana pools (base mana/level went up considerably), and downranking as a rule isn't highly effective. LO's strong- but with 5% proc rate it'd be nicer if they just gave us 5% more damage (who the hell looked at shaman and said 'let's give them more proc based damage'?), and less unfairly decimating in pvp. ToW is barely noticible, and WoA will instantly cause all other caster in the group to give you head.
4) Absolutely. it's hard to even explain why, but you just feel more geniunely powerful than you did leveling up- bigger numbers, new abilities, and grinding on an epic mount...you just feel like you -are- a Hero class in my experince.
5) It does, but the totem might actually have more HP than the elemental. There was one version where the elemental turned on you. And so far I just have earth elemental totem, the application of which it would be a lot more helpful to throw my mana down a long, dark hole- hopefully this got changed a hair in this new version.

Following tidbit pulled from the mage forum -- can anyone supply more details?
It seems they raised the damage of Arcane Blast and it stacks to 3 instead of 5 now. Im not high enough to test it but I would assume it would be -.03 sec per cast.

We've heard a lot about fixing holes in hybrid itemization. How about stuff like armor rings and trinkets? Any indication that they know how powerful and how rare those things are, and are putting a few in?
Paladins just got a new 41 point talent, Crusader strike.
Crusader Strike
276 Mana
Instant Cast
6 second cooldown
5 yard range
Requires Melee Weapon
An instant strike that causes weapon damage plus 40% of your Holy spell damage and refreshes all Judgements on the target.
Can someone in the beta confirm this? have 2 paladins judge light and wisdom and then move away. Have a 3rd with Crusader Strike spam it on every cooldown. Will he keep their judgements refreshed?
If so, this is a big change for raids. Have 3-4 paladins judge and then do other things. One 41 Ret Pally melees and keeps all judgements up by spamming Crusader Strike.
