Basiclly I allways try to stay a couple levels higher then my quests, is it possible to do in the new starting zones?
|
The new zones are great. The BE starting area least, is possibly the best designed zone in the entire game - especially the 11-20 one - nothing can beat undead murlocks. If you do all the quests, you don't have to grind one single extra mob, as you ding 20 when you turn in the final elite quest.
If you want to stay 2 levels higher than the quests, then you'd possibly have to do some extra effort for the last elite quests.
|
The draenei zones are possibly some of the best starting areas in the game, as well. It really shows how much they've learned with quest design/placement over the years when you play through Azuremyst Isle/Bloodmyst Isle and Eversong/Ghostlands. Also the Tranquillien reputation in Ghostlands is top notch.

Are there replacement/new herbs for flask of titans etc, or are we spending alot of time in felwood/ws/++ come tbc too, unless there are new gromsblood/black lotus/++ places?

I read back a few pages and didn't see anything about this yet - I have fire, nature and frost resist gear giving me 250+ resist each. Will I need it for any specific fight/instance or will it be easily replaced? I vaguely read about an NR fight but that's about it. I'm looking to free up a few bank slots, perhaps keep the epics and sell the blues?

There are a couple boss fights where a particular resist would be useful, but none where it is necessary. There are new 70 resist sets for fire and arcane, and a smattering of others as well. Your keep epics sell blues plan is probably for the best, yes - if you're in a raid guild, some old 60 FR epics might prove useful.

Mmm. The extra armor and stamina on a level 70 resist piece is going to be of negligible importance for many resist fights. Even MC/BWL-level FR gear shouldn't be that terrible for most classes compared to the level 70 stuff, no worse than using BRD FR gear in MC/BWL.
In other words, if it's resist gear I wouldn't be sharding it until and unless you either have replacements or we've seen the raid encounters in the expansion and know 100% you won't need it. Better safe than sorry, and who doesn't have a ridiculous stockpile of nexus crystals anyway?

I'm holding on to most of my gear, res gear included. Largely because I like to keep enough Tier 1 to get the improved thorns in my bag for raids, so I can quickly switch it out, throw thorns on the tank/s and then switch back. Not so much for the extra damage, more for the extra 5 minutes.
Anyway, I think you'd be mad to get rid of ANY res gear, especially for casters/healers. Blizz love to have at least one fight in a big raid that's a resist fight, and they're running out of elements to use, so they'll cycle back around again.

Destroy everything else, instead (well, too late for now). Palms, bones, DI scraps? To the trashcan. Old consumables? Out to the vendor. Quest items you've never completed? Drop the quest, and get the free bag space back.

Really? Your saying there is no use at all for arcane elixirs, mongoose pots, night dragons, and nightfin soups etc? Are new consumables so easy to come by and obtainable so soon after entering Outlands?

They're not quite that easy to come by. Though with all the alchemist's leveling alchemy, there's going to be a whole crap-ton of pots. Better versions of arcane elixirs and mongoose are very quickly available.
There's no 'replacement' for felwood items, but as stamina scales up, they have very little real impact. Past 66 or so, they simply arn't worth the inventory slot anymore in my opinion.
There's better foods for you to use than all the current ones, but you'll have to level up cooking and farm the stuff to use them. I wouldn't actually throw it all away, but I'd use it quickly to clear out inventory room.
There's a lot of collection quests.

Part of it is a stacking issue. For example, Greater Arcane Elixir and Adept's Elixir don't stack the way you'd think - if both buffs are up, you get the 35 spell damage from the GAE, but not the 24 from the Adept's Elixir. You get just the +24 spell crit from that. In other words, you're blowing 4 dreamfoil, 1 silversage, 1 crystal vial and 1 imbued vial for just an extra 11 spell damage from the Adept's Elixir which is a massive waste of resources.

I see. How usefull would you say current herbs are like Dreamfoil and Icecap are after TBC?
Ive got about 200 of each, and a ton of other herbs, and im wondering wether i should make pots out of them that i can use for leveling up, or wether i should keep the herbs incase im going to need them for raiding later.

Dreamfoil is in adept's elixir, replacement for Greater Arcane

Icecap on other hand is useless, except for maybe leveling a bit on Major manas. Of other old herbs, mountain silversage and golden sansam has uses in new pots with no better alternatives

And potion for leveling alch - http://www.thottbot.com/beta?i=2743 Everything else uses new herbs only.

Thanks for the info, i'll probably just keep them all in herb form for the moment then, 'just in case' for the future.
That last link doesnt work tho.

Keep that icecap around for Major Mana Potions, because you won't be able to make Super Mana Potions until Alchemy 340, and further, not until you can get your hands on Netherbloom from the Netherstorm.

I wouldn't toss any consumables out -- I plan on using most of my lesser ones in every single instance, and if I'm in a relatively safe area in Outlands, I'll be using them there too. (for PvE servers, use them right away!)
