On our 3rd night on cthun, we killed him today (was a bit unexpected) and then tried ouro. We took him to 30% in our first attempt, and then called it off. I've read the tactics on him before but one thing I need to ask about dodging sandblast.

We made a hunter/warlock group with 2 healers and put it in 120 degree position from tank group and caster group. So the first sandblast, it hit us (I'm in that group), good. But it did hit us. Then the second blast didn't hit us. Is it because sandblast wipes aggro? If that is the case, in order to make sure it always hits us, we have to dodge every sandblast?

Our hunter's seemed to be able to get most sand blast's on them, with liberal use of Distracting Shot, and no salv.

How many submerge's did you take to get to 30%?

On our attempts it felt like he was dieing exceptionally slow. (we didn't use rogues on him, and we AoE'd the bugs down).

Our best attempt was around 60% and that was with a decent amount of submerges in between.

Before first submerge he was around 36%. But we have a sick caster dps in our group at the moment.

Our hunter (me) and warlock had no salvation, I spammed distracting shot, he spammed searing pain. We managed to get most of them and dodge like half of them. But whenever we didn't dodged, it seemed like the next one went to tank.

edit: disclaimer: watching this video greatly trivilizes the kill.

That video clearly shows he'll SB the highest aggro under 20% when someone is in melee range even if you're using the dodge strategy. Some of the previous threads had wild and ridiculous theories that that wasn't possible - contrary to video evidence and experience. I still like the multiple tank strat, but whatever.
