We use 2 full prot and 1 hybrid prot tanks for everything up to 4h (we are currently on gothik)... i cant see us having the DPS if we make all our warriors go prot for the niceties of the tree... How necessary is being prot for the fight? i cant imagine having to respec over and over throughout the weak and i know with aggro switches and DPS rotations the effective DPS u have to hold aggro on would be cut in half i would think. How many prot warriors do ppl use? is it necessary to even have one in all honesty? what are advantages/disadvantages?

I and 1 other Warrior have points in protection. The other 6 we used didn't have points in the tree.

It shaves a few seconds off on taunts, but really protection isnt needed at all.

It's not necessary but it helps. This has been covered in other threads, including a huge one all about the 4H.
