So we've put a few nights into Thaddius and we've pretty much got the fight down at this point. A few more pulls and he's toast. However, we've suffered a LOT of wasted attempts due to an issue with Stalagg and Fuegen where when a tank throw occurs one of the tanks will "miss" and land in the slime, rather than on the opposite platform like he's supposed to. The wight on the opposite platform will then proceed to chase after him, and I'm sure you all know what happens next...

Has anybody else been having this issue? If so, is there anything you were able to do to prevent it from happening? We're pretty much convinced that it's just a bug, but if there is something we can change to make sure they don't "miss", that'd save a lot of time and money.

I had it once, unless you try hard to fall into slime you dont. Tank them in the middle of the platforms, giving the mana users enough range, there is a bit of room there.

make sure the area infront of each wight is clear (dont tank them on the lip) so the opposite tank can be 'ported' into the right place :>

Unrelated, but very funny: We just had a wipe where a tank taunted before the throw, and that taunt stuck even after the throw, sending Stalagg across to the other platform and a subsequent raid wipe :P

Well it's interesting because we have them tanked on the side of the platform closer to Thaddius, but when the tanks are thrown, they land on the side closer to the door(if they don't run toward the wight quickly they'll sometimes lose link with the tesla coil briefly, but not long enough for the raid to get barbecued). Is the target area where the tank is thrown to fixed, or does it depend in some way on where they're tanked?

Im no tank but im fairly sure the tanks are put where the old tank was unless theres something like geometry in the way

From what I've seen, the tanks consistently land much closer to the door than they were when they were thrown.

Tank stands at T, wight is at S, tank lands at X after a throw and runs up to T. Rinse and repeat.

Is there some kind of geometry I'm not aware of that would prevent them from being thrown to where they are tanked?

We've had our tanks miss the platform a few times, but the main cause of our tank-in-slime wipes have been tanks stopping midair as if they hit a wall and then falling directly into the slime... wonderful stuff. We actually survived one of these incidents because we were so cocky that we had popped nature prots before the pull, so the tesla coil didn't two-shot anyone.

The first 5 times practicing thaddius the adds are good fun. Nowadays they're just disaster waiting to happen :(

If you're too close to the ledge(the one on the "middle slime" side), you'll usually fall. Try to get into the middle. There's some kind of geometry involved I believe, where it will "mirror" your position from a point in the middle of the room. If you're too close to the ledge, it will mirror you very close to the other ledge too, and most of the time, you'll fall cause you're not thrown far enough. The closer you are to the middle, the better, while still leaving enough room for people to stand without getting thunderclapped on right side, but that's easy if they stand in corners. Then you should try to go near the tesla/thaddius side, while staying in the middle, so when you get thrown and one of them aggro the tank in the air, he doesn't run out of the tesla range before the tank lands, which would result in everyone getting bolted.
Using Chiquihuite graphic, I'd say here is the safest spot:

if they are both in the middle before the throw timer goes off (la vendetta, imba and various other boss mods have a timer call) the 2 MTs will never ever miss.

This isn't a bug - tank positioning is critical to phase 1... theres nothing fancy about it - or magic as indicated above.
You get flung where the other mob is located - plus about 5 to 10 yards in your own direction. If you're too close to the edge you wipe. Blame the tanks.
