I am after some advice from you guys about how best to take on new content as a guild
We seem to find that we keep coming up against the same problem when we are trying to tackle new content and this is drastically slowing down the rate at which we can progress.
We find that as soon as we are starting to attempt new bosses/intances we get a sudden drop in attendance which makes raiding pretty tough for those that do turn up and put in the effort. This happened when we started BWL, happened again when we started AQ40, and we are currently about to start Nax nd I dont want the same thing to happen again.
I have outlined a few of the problems I see that could be contributing to this :
- guild bank does not pay for anything so currently people provide thier own consumables and repair bills. As soon as we hit new content repair bills get very expensive, you need to spend more on consumables
- current dkp system does not really punish people for bad attendance. they can turn up for farm raids, gain their dkp, and not really suffer by not taking on the new content. Then they seem to mysteriously not be busy any more once we have content on farm and come back to claim their new toys
- we generally have the same core set of people in raids each day so if a few of them decide not to sign up then that basically kills our raid group
Are there any rules that you guys use in your guilds to stop this sort of thing happening? Any suggestions? You think it is just our members or something fundamentally wrong with how this is being managed? Does the same thing happen to you?
we have about 2 months till TBC hits and would like to get as far through Nax as possible in this time, and if this problem continues then that is going to pretty much kill this idea. I would like to get any suggestions or ideas you have to take back to my guild leadership
thanks for reading
