I've made a very basic DPS sheet for retribution paladins - mostly for personal use - involving the spells and talents from Burning Crusade. But I've run into some problems calculating my real weapon damage, as I get some slight differences between the values in my sheet and the values I've actually got in-game when checking the character screen. I suspect the calculation of the talent 'Two-Handed Weapon Specialization' to be the culprit, but I don't really know how I'm supposed to calculate it - or more presicely, in what order I should add the damage modifier and the attack power.

I know that there's several skilful theorycrafters among you, so if someone could take a look at it and tell me what I'm doing wrong, and whether or not there's other mistakes too, I would've been most grateful. I'm quite interested in how well (or bad) retribution DPS will stack up to the primary DPS-classes, and I intend to make the model more detailed as I learn more about how to calculate damage. After all, I've been a healbot during my entire WoW-career, so my knowledge on the matter is a bit lacking. ;')

As much as I appreciate your help, that calculator doesn't answer any of my questions. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't find anything else then comparisons between SoB, SoR and SoC, and how they're effected by attack power, spelldamage and crit ratio. In addition, it's written in such a way that I can't trace his calculations to see what he really did, as I'm still a novice at Excel.

That may be the case, but EJ forum etiquette dictates that you should contribute to existing threads on the same topic, rather than reinvent the wheel. The eventual goal would be to build a comprehensive Paladin DPS thread which is worthy of inclusion in the "Threads of Significance" list. Any contributions you can make to the existing thread and spreadsheet would likely be more than welcome.

And I guess I should've done more research before I started posting at your forums. Hell, I didn't even know about "Threads of Significance" before you mentioned it, I think that reading the official WoW-forums has given me a bad habit of just scrolling past the stickies. ;p

This forum is heavily dedicated to "extreme" theorycrafting, so you should get used to it. ;) Oh, and it's not my forum - just trying to keep you from attracting unwanted attention from those with the ban buttons. =O
