1. What range of gear did you have at lvl 60?

9/9 t3 .. naxx/aq40.

2. What lvl have you achieved within beta and how much of your active equipment did you replace thus far?

67.5

3 pcs..
wand (was wand of fates) with a blue from an elite quest off nessinwary
1 ring (ring of inevitable) with some blue from some quest can't recall
neck ( was maclice stone pendant) with some blue from some quest i can't recall..

All in all i replaced the crappiest pieces i had at the time i entered TBC.

3. Have you kept using any weaker pieces (in light of new pieces from Outlands) in order to maintain set bonuses or perhaps for other reasons?

yes depends on spec. +dmg vs +crit etc. i have kept some things in case i go desto. Other older things had better upgrades but had ZG enchant or some other enchant that made them better.

4. Have you "nerfed" what you actively wear in order to negotiate repair costs?

No.

5. Have you spent any effort trying to (re)run specific quests or dungeons in order to obtain new, replacement items?

hell no.

6. Would you agree to the following basic guidelines?

a) Leveling 61-64 greens/blues will transplant some Tier1ish pieces (yes or no)
y
b) Leveling 64-67 greens/blues will transplant some Tier2ish pieces (yes or no)
y
c) Leveling 67-70 greens/blues will transplant some Tier3ish pieces (yes or no)
maybe ?
d) By level 70 you will replace most of your current gear (yes or no)
no
e) You may not replace all of your lvl 60 items on the way to 70, esp if you level quickly (yes or no)
y
f) You may be able to hit level 70 with 120 hours of effort (yes or no)
dunno.. maybe

70 3 days ago

Ive met some blues that had arround the same stats as my T2 items, mostly from dungeons like CoT and Botanica, and I actualy found a green BoE head that had arround the same stat as my BF hood. kept BF cus of the enchant.

4. Have you "nerfed" what you actively wear in order to negotiate repair costs?
No, I reay dont care about repair cost in beta.

5. Have you spent any effort trying to (re)run specific quests or dungeons in order to obtain new, replacement items?
Ran botanica a couple of times in hope for a fast offhand, since The castigator is way to slow for it to be viable for anything
As Ive experienced 60-70 grind mostly from questing, the one thing Ive realy missed was a fast offhand simply because a 2.6 speed messes up venom, combat potency, and in the end, makes shiv horrible (yeh, Id love to use 45 energy on a attack that applies poison and gives tops 150 damage)

6. Would you agree to the following basic guidelines?
a) Leveling 61-64 greens/blues will transplant some Tier1ish pieces (yes or no)
yes
b) Leveling 64-67 greens/blues will transplant some Tier2ish pieces (yes or no)
no
c) Leveling 67-70 greens/blues will transplant some Tier3ish pieces (yes or no)
no (mainly because of the set bonus will overgo whatever +1 sta you will gain)
d) By level 70 you will replace most of your current gear (yes or no)
yes

By the time you are 70, for a combat rogue perspective, holding on to your T3 set for the +5 energy is stupid, simply because your critrating have deminished alot while your gear are still the same. T3 looses viablility for me at least. And there is plenty of good replacements that will make me more viable. I guess this might be another story for mutilate and ambush rogues.

e) You may not replace all of your lvl 60 items on the way to 70, esp if you level quickly (yes or no)
I didnt replace anythnig other then my trinkets (most of my trinkets were replaced by easy quests in notime)

f) You may be able to hit level 70 with 120 hours of effort (yes or no)
Yes

Sidenote: Taking jewelcrafting to 375 on beta and thotting for gems, makes me wonder what the points are (as a hardcore player I took it in hopes of getting realy good jewels) with the profession, seing as what has shown up till now. not a single craftable jewel is better then what you will find dropping off bosses and vendors arround the world. I realy hope they have added some rare designs out on the instances that will be better then what I have seen so far, because the ones Ive seen till now makes me wonder what the point of it is (other then selling mediocre jewels for the masses)

Necro posting in this old thread. Was just interested to see how much this held true for those that didnt play beta and played retail.

I found that by 70 I had replaced trinkets weapons and about 50% of my armor, and after a few heroics and some more concentrated running of the lvl 70 dungeons I've replaced all but my BS chest, helm and bracers (and boots when I want the set bonus and dont need the +hit from the fel leather ones). I've found my crit is good enough to make the 4 piece worthwhile (am at 31.5% unbuffed, with fist spec) and am struggling to find replacements for these pieces.

How have the results in this thread compared to what people have found while levelling themselves?

I was in mostly AQ/Naxx gear (7 bosses dead in Naxx), have replaced all but Drake Fang Talisman and Bonescythe Bracers. Most of it was replaced from quests/drops after hitting 70.

Still only 65, not 70, but still not feeling tempted by any weapons yet (rogue, Maexxna's Fang/Blessed Qiraji Pugio). Gear was pretty much top BWL-era gear + DD helm and weapons from AQ40/Naxx, - Drake Fang Talisman.

Trying my hardest to maintain my 3pc BF bonus, which hasn't proven too hard due to the fact that I still have ZG-enchanted BF hood (for when I find a huge chest or shoulder upgrade, hasn't happened just yet but I haven't done an extreme amount of instancing to replace DD head) and BF pants, with a third item to be determined at the time, though most likely bracers.

Thankfully, replaced my level 48 Hinterlands trinket within 8 hours of opening the expansion box (about a week and a half following release).

replaced all but Cthun Ring, Neltharion's Tear.

was 7/9 plagueheart. mainly karazhan/crafted shadoweave set.
plenty of upgrades for affliction based warlocks, reached hit cap from gear alone (0/5 supression due to shadowbolts).

Don't mind really that i'm wearing completely new gear.

I've replaced everything from the old world (full t2 and random epics from everything pre-emps) except Ringo's Blizzard Boots and the PvP trinket (haven't gotten the upgrade yet).

My soloing set was and is still 8/8 Netherwind. Netherwind Focus increases world-mob killing speed more than any reasonable amount of additional damage stats. I had replaced both trinkets by 63 (Mark of Defiance+Power Infused Mushroom for levelling), rings and neck by 65. Kept my weapon (Acolyte Staff) until 70 when I got Star-Heart Lamp and Continuum Blade.

My grouping set is almost completely replaced however, the only pieces remaining being Mish'undare which will be replaced by the Second Sight helm when I get Sha'tar revered for the enchant, Amulet of Vek'nilash (wtb Brooch of Heightened Potential), Firemaw's Clutch (will be Arcatraz key reward), and Neltharion's Tear.

Also, still using Cold Snap in both sets.

As (now) a Feral Druid:

I replaced all but Mark of Tyranny (and likely never will), helluva tank/dps now.

For Healing:

This is easily the driest of the itemization, very little Healing Leather available until Kara: I have only replaced my Lok with a +227healing hammer, my DM Trinket with a Green +55 healing Tablet, and my neck and cloak. I am debating 8/8 Stormrage versus 5/8 with some of the new gear, but the only REAL gear upgrade I've found was the Mantle of Autumn (which is positively unreal).

I need to start digging through the Cloth Gear for some more Healing gear now that my set bonus is broken.

As an aside:
- Is there a decent compilation of TBC healing gear? I can't walk down the street without bumping into a Feral/Balance/Shadow gear list, but I have yet to see a good rating system and gear list developed for healing. I'll post this thought in a new thread...
