Keeps reminding me of Quake Rocket arena. Man those one shot kill matches were awesome.

I really can't wait for the arena. I was pretty meh about it first but the power of a shadow priest + holy priest combo has me insanely interested and pretty sure we're going to wreck a good many teams, for the mere reason we're in the same room, and don't have to put up with the stupidity of screaming at the raid leader to place us in the same group for VE/VT.

I only skimmed the info since I'm at work but really impressed with what I am seeing.

The only thing that could make me happier about pvp is if promised things like being able to man ballistas and control armies was actually beefed in some of the existing zones. It would pump up AV to be sure.

I am moist in the pants for the Arena ladder. It sounds really well thought out, and completely awesome. Please pull through. :socar:
Arenas will be put into place with the next patch. You cannot create an Arena team, use the rewards, etc., as they all require level 70.

Finally a fix for the soul shard issue.

Looks like they fixed the problem with stealthed players delaying matches for extreme amount of time by adding a "powerup" that appears 5 minutes after the match starts. This buff allows you to see stealthed players at the cost of 15% of your hp.

It will be funny when stealth-capable players start forcing others to grab this power-up by hiding as a means to draw advantage.

Actually it is a good change. From what I have read the bonus is not as substantial as they said on the website. I know alot of people hate Ming, but he said on his website the buff can be compared to Warlock+Felhunter. So, assuming he is correct it really isn't a big deal. Most of the Arena matches I have been in last 1-2 minutes, this "powerup" simply counteracts stealthed players who choose to be pricks and try to hold a team in a match longer than needed.

But you can do the 2 vs 2 and 4 vs 4 stuff in 2.0?

You can basically do a skirmish, practice arena matches. That's it. No forming of permanent teams or getting ladder points. Same as on the PTR.

yes: 2v2 3v3 and 5v5 practice arenas, are in 2.0

You didn't on the PTR, don't know if that'll change for live though. If it doesn't they'll be pretty dead after two weeks.

You get the regular (not arena) honor for kills, and nothing for winning.

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew it was like that when the PTR first came up, but I haven't been on in weeks.

Hmm? I don't get any honor for killing horde in arenas in beta.

I was on the PTR just last night and honor was showing up in my combat log...pretty sure it was showing up in the character sheet as well.

Interesting that they actually posted the Arena Points formula (although they don't mention for what bracket). On the US Forums at least Blizzard goes out of there way to keep people in the dark about formulas and if they are known, they generally come from a Blue posting on the European forums.

No, not arena points. The regular honor points that you would get in any WSG, AV, AB, or world pvp. The honor points you would buy GM/HWL weapons with. I'd love to get something from the arena matches, even if it just the honor points (not arena rating or points) from the kills.

I assume you can still get a small amount of honor, simply from the player kills. So at least you can continue to work toward vanilla rewards while testing out both arena team compositions and strategies.

I was referring to honor points. Unless I was broken or they fixed it, last week I wasn't receiving any honor from kills in the arena. This could also be due to me getting booted every ten minutes. *shrug*

Just saying if we don't get honor from the arenas people will probably go back to wsg, AB, AV to try and get the honor rewards to level with. The arena will definitely be a hot spot come level 70.

So 10 players for 5v5 in a team. That is what I expected.
