Alrighty. I did a search, but it came up negative.
I recently respecced to shadow, after the changes in 2.0. Firstly because I was geared and specced for downranking, so I lost 30% of my healing on my most used healing spell.
Anywho, my problem is as following: I'm getting aggro by doing ~200 dps. Well, at first I was of course going all out, trying to find my limits (without mind blast). I have rather crappy equipment so I can only reach around 500 dps if using pain, vampiric touch and spam mind flay, with of course curse of shadows, shadow weaving and misery on the target.
Well, enough of that. I have 3/3 Shadow Affinity for a 25% threat reduction, and I always have blessing of salvation on.
I see plenty of people doing 400+ dps, without getting aggro. Rogues (who don't vanish, and as far as I know, feint isn't that useful. I never saw it lower my own threat enough to make a difference, when playing my rogue), frost mages (They have what? 10% threat reduction from talents?) and warlocks.
I'm of course always using vampiric embrace, but since overhealing doesn't produce any threat, I don't see why I should be getting aggro due to that.
So I ask of you, oh enlightened people, please do englighten me of what is causing my enormous threat generation compared to everybody else. Could it be the shadow weaving and misery buffs? If so, shouldn't it only produce a lot of threat in the beginning, since as far as I know, renewing debuffs doesn't cause additional threat? Anywho. I'd love some answers to this, and maybe a way to reduce my threat generation?
