dr_AllCOM3,
That thread is not only posted by an alt, but gives no source information whatsoever. The only "hint" we have is the german client with the Guardian Elixir and Combat Elixir tags, nothing about those elixirs and flasks being exclusive. Regardless, if this is their solution then we *only* have to farm flasks. Yay?

I'm going to have to agree with the OP graphic he posted that showed you how much consumables helped in raids.

Before tbc my Guild had 7/15 bosses on farm status (with Gluth down to 5% before a world server crash). We had downed patchwerk 4 times before we stopped for tbc. This is the gear I wore to heal a tank in our Patchwerk fights:

http://ctprofiles.net/3643221

Yes I know I was a total noob and my gear sucked (gogo mooncloth robe) but I was a new recruit straight out of a guild that had barely cleared BWL.

I used every single consumable known to a priest on that encounter and we downed him.

Blizzard really needs to fix World of Alchemycraft

Is anyone going back to get hakkar buffs yet, or considered it? Haven't heard about world buffs in a while, but was reminded reading the "Irreplacable Items" thread. Or did it get nerfed and I just missed it?

They nerfed everything.

You can't even get the King buff in DMN anymore at level 70.

Is it only at level 70? We had people who were more concerned with getting the spirit beer from the drunk. Several Game Masters told us it was a bug but we all know how reliable they can be.

Proposed patchnotes are out regarding tradeskills, including alchemy.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...30146591&sid=1

Alchemy

* Elixirs now stack in two categories, Battle (Offensive) and Guardian (Defensive) Elixirs. You can only have one of each type of Elixir up at a time. As a result Elixirs now stack with class abilities such as "Arcane Intellect."
* Four new defensive elixirs have been added. Two are on trainers, one is in Halaa and one is in Cenarion Expedition.
* "Flask of Petrification" can no longer be turned off during its duration, but it now will clear all threat from all monsters for the duration of the effect. Though monsters may reaquire you after the effect ends.
* The cost to purchase Imbued Vials has been reduced.

Enchanting

* Enchant Bracer-Spellpower had its primal costs reduced slightly.
* Enchanting recipes that increase spell damage now also increase healing as well.
* The "Major Defense Bracer" enchantment has been moved from Ethereum Researchers to Ethereum Nullifiers.

Engineering

* A recipe for "Frost Grenades" and the "Icy Blasting Primers" needed to make them are now on engineering trainers.
* Engineering recipes can now be placed in engineering bags, as can engineer made fireworks.
* Many engineering recipes will now give skillups for longer than the previously did.
* "Seaforium" now opens locked chests as well as locked doors
* The Poultryizer and Nigh Invulnerability Belt now cause mishaps less often.
* The Goblin Rocket Launcher cooldown has been reduced significantly.
* 11 new epic goggles have been introduced at 350 engineering skill and are available from the trainer. They range from cloth to plate, and have a variety of stats to appeal to most talent specs.

Fishing

* The fishing timer has been reduced from 30 to 20 seconds and it now takes less time to fish.
* The fishing timer can no longer run through its duration without a fish biting.
* Fishing has been removed from Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley.
* You can now fish in Underbog.

Jewelcrafting

* The jewelcrafting UI now has gems split up by color so it is easier to find gems of a specific color to create.
* A number new gem cuts to existing gems have been added to the game. Included among them are a spell hit gem and more multi-stat gems that have attack power on them.
* Jewelcrafters can make two new melee oriented meta gems. One is found randomly as a world drop and the other sold by the <Faction> reputation vendor.
* Thorium requirements for most recipes has been reduced.
* Prospecting now always yields at least 1 gem. Overall, the amount of gems received from prospecting has been increased.
* New recipes have been added that use the Jaggal and Shadow Pearls.

Leatherworking

* Skinning higher level creatures will give more leather; you will no longer get a single leather scrap.
* "Knothide Armor" kits now require less leather to make and give skill increases for longer.
* Leatherworking made primalstrike set now has an attack power set bonus rather than a strength set bonus.

I'm confused by that prospecting change. Its already pretty crazy amount of gems. People send their ores to JCs to get it prospected because they can get paid better doing that than selling the ore in many cases.

I mean the net result is blue gems will probably end up cheaper because there will be even more (which is good for the non jc'ers), but I didn't think prospecting needed anything changed.

The fishing changes are pretty awesome now. Easily 40% of the casts I do never get a bite, makes skilling up and just getting food more of a chore than gathering anything else. I look forward to the alchemy changes too, I don't want to carry so many potions and I don't want to have to make so many. Of course this probably means some potions will very quickly lose any value as people will always min max their potion usage.

So now you can use a flask, two elixirs, and chain chug pots. It's an improvement surely but doesn't really cut down my costs by a whole lot. Unless by "elixir" they mean flasks too.

Also brings up many questions about which stuff falls where and also a few "potions" that give elixir like buffs, for example Mageblood Potion. What would Elixir of Mastery fall under.

Well, the elixirs I use on any fight that matters is Major Defense, Major Agility, Elixir of Mastery, Elixir of Fortitude. I am unsure if Elixir of Mastery would be an offensive or defensive elixir. Flask is probably seperate because its a flask, but I would be using Major Defense and probably mastery if its offensive.

It helps the casters who are using Magebloods, Adepts, [element] Power, and I can't remember the name of the other one, there was another people were using.

I got the Rend UBRS buff whilst trolling the AH in Org the other day - anyone tried Ony/Nef buff at level 70?

Yeah but what are you going to do? Haul some token guild alt through the Onyxia fight just for a 1 time buff. And then do it all over again each time you had new content on deck? I know it's a joke at levle 70 but one of the last things I'd be even remotely interested in doing is slogging some random guild alt through the Onyxia quest line just for a fucking buff that content shouldn't be tuned around in the first place.
