So with TBC coming out it seems to be that quite a few people are planning to re-roll to a new character, and we'll have people rerolling shamans and paladins on their according faction. My question to everyone on this board is how have you gone about preparing your re-rolled character for the power grind to 70? What items have you gathered for this, are there any quests you can have banked? Anything that will speed up the leveling let me know.

So far for my paladin I have

30-50 of each healing potions
Mageblood pots
Major manas
Mongoose
Pretty much any potion that would be helpful leveling.
10 stacks of every type of cloth
I have a new blue weapon lined up every 4-5 levels beyond 18.
Full set of green armor for low levels (10-13)
Full set of plate armor for as soon as I ding 40.
4 travelers backpacks.

I've just recently started collecting stuff for my Pally but I think I could get a lot more stuff that would make the grind to 70 easier on myself. Let me know if there's anything I should get my hands on.

So what type of stuff have you prepared for the character you're going to be main switching to in TBC?

Don't forget to get some greens for 1-16, and don't forget to bribe a mage to port you around to get your weapon training done immediately and to get you to Mulgore/Elwynn to avoid the newbie rush.

I'm planning on leveling a shaman in tandem with a paladin, so I've gone ahead and bought two or three full green sets, a new suit of mail/plate for level 40, and Kang the Decapitator for me and a Nightblade for the paladin as well as other blue weapons every 2-5 levels or so until 60. After level 60, I believe that Outland should supply better gear than I could possible purchase in the old world.

I havn't thought much about pregrinding items to turn in for quest XP. Great idea, I'll get started on collecting it, although with the shear amount of gear I've accumulated, I might have to roll another alt just to hold everything!

every level?

I didn't go too crazy for my paladin. I have stacks of each cloth, and I've mapped out what instances I need running through for major weapons along the way. Something like Sin'dorei warblade -> Strike of the Hydra -> Corpsemaker -> etc. I'm not even sure I'll use them all and will probably skip a few. IMO, so long as you don't fall way behind, being a couple DPS behind what is possible ends up making very little difference in the long run.

I also have enough ore to power grind engineering and blacksmithing to 330ish, and will get help from friends for the rest until I can get my 60 miner to 70.

I haven't put nearly as much effort in preparing for my reroll as some people apparently have. So far it's mainly been just collecting random potion drops instead of selling them and buying random pieces of +damage gear. I might put a little more thought into it over the next few weeks, it's certainly tempting to go collecting that list Tiberion posted.

Heh, re-rolling gone scientific. It's going to be fun watching how it all turns out and how fast and efficient people end up doing the 1-60. Personally I'm not starting a paladin, but I did stash away various armor and blue two-handers along with pots and buff scrolls to give to guildmates who will be leveling up new invulnerable blood elves.

It's gonna be funny to see a bunch of Nelf paladins and Draenei shamans in their respective starting areas. I started playing on a new server myself, and I can say that I do not enjoy having to camp out for mobs to respawn, and using instant casts to tag mobs before others get to them. What makes it more frustrating is people who insist on doing that instead of grouping.

I read somewhere that WOW was supposed to have dynamic mob respawns - the more players in an area, the faster the mobs will respawn. I don't think I ever felt that was the case, and have many bad experiences of mobs spawning on top of me one after another even though I am the only player in a particular area.

I shall definitely be leveling a BE Paladin, but not as a re-roll, so my warlock is still going to get to 70 first. As for preparations, all I've got so far are a Destiny that I've given up on trying to sell and a few random blues I've had drop here and there.

Certain areas in the game will always have at least three mobs spawned in that area, to prevent overcrowding. Most of the 1-20 areas will have this. Anyone who farmed for the AQ gates should know the popular ones.

Can you elaborate a bit on what you mean? The only place I know of that respawns infinitely is a little camp of gnolls in wetlands, south of the Greenwarden. It is impossible to kill off the camp, because the second you kill the last one, the camp starts repopulating itself. I've used this spot to level several characters from 20-25 in about two hours doing nothing but mob smashing. If you know of any more areas like this, please tell.

I've got all the major boe blue armors from 15-55 sorted and green pieces for most gaps plus Titanic Leggings and Lionheart Helm with 8Str Librams. All blue pieces are enchanted. 2Hers with fiery enchants lined up until 52 (for which I have a demonslayer with demonslaying, "satyrs-be-gone"), with a gap for Corpsemaker at least. Aegis of Stormwind+Hammer of the Northern Wind at 49 if I want to go Reckoning (SM loot covers sword and board at 40). Going BE Paladin hardcore to 70 ASAP as a new main along with a few friends. ;)

Have some bare minimum of mats to support Blacksmithing and Enchanting but I will start out with Mining/Skinning until early 60s, then drop Skinning for Blacksmithing and ultimately Mining for Enchanting.

Off topic, but my hat goes off to you people, in two years of play i've never had the stomach to level more than my single main to 60. No alt has ever made it past 41.

There used to be one in Westfall, along the northwestern shore's cliff-line. Infinite spawns of linen bearing Defias, at about 7 spawn points. I remember standing in one spot for hours as a hunter, switching targets from spawn to spawn, one shotting them all. The spawn rate was so fast that a lot of the time my autoshots didn't even stop, I could acquire a new target before my bow recycled. Eventually I'd have to stop because my small army or rogues and warriors who were looting the corpses for linen couldn't loot the corpses anymore because of how deeply they were piled.

Heh, I remember AoEing that camp during the AQ opening event. Didn't have an army looting for me, so it got very old very quickly.

What i have:

14 Weapons ranging from lvl 3 to 52. Blues and Epix mostly. All Fiery Enchanted. Should last me until Outlands.
Plate DPS set for lvl 40

To do-list:
Cloth of all kinds for first aid
Mana potions of all kinds

I'll dualbox run the Paladin with my 60priest, so i can dump all mana into DPS. As long as i can get out of a fight alive i'll be instantly full health, so don't need to worry TOO much bout armor and alike.

Also gonna have a pet-mage (brothers account) moving around to open UC portals whenever the poor pally needs training. (How the HELL can they only have trainers in Silvermoon and UC? Retarded tbh).

Not gonna bother with tradeskills until 70 prolly. Would take too much time away from leveling.

Shaman only have trainers in Org and TB (and I assume the Exodar for filthy draenei), and Druids only have trainers in TB/Darn last I checked.

It sucks, but what are you going to do? This is why Shattrath exists, I suppose.

How can you help?
I can shoot things and then make my pet move toward them.

I considered a Jewelcrafting/Engineering combo since the benefits of both those two professions for leveling are (i think) immense. But i'll probably just stick with Jewelcrafting/mining since i might want to mine in outlands for ores/gems and such and such. But i could still do engineering at least until i wear out my headgear. Those Green Lens' will last me ages though.

So far i have blues from 15 onward. I don't however get a new weapon every level, more like every 3-4 levels from 10-52 (the best one so far being Axe of Deep Woods). They're all enchanted, mostly with striking, but some have fiery/crusader. I also have bank alts stacked with ore, stones, gems, cloth, potions, quest items (like the ones in Tiberion's list, but not as many >_>) and probably some other stuff i have for no good reason other than i like storing items. There are a few slots which i don't have items for across a few levels, but i think i'll be powered enough for it not to matter. It's not like i've prepared any of my previous 60s like i have this one.

I think i've done a lot, but Illidan would have his own opinion on that.

Same for me. My Priest will still be my main character, and I will level her to 70 first. Meanwhile I'll level a Draenei Paladin for PvP to concentrate both characters fully on an aspect of the game (Priest - raiding, Paladin - PvP, Hunter - farming). Reading this topic I should probably start getting some items for him though. ;)

I personally haven't gone overboard, I have a random level 7 green two-handed sword, and from level 26 onwards a BoE Blue two-handed weapon for around every 6 levels up to level 56.
And some guild members also sent me the BoE pieces of Lightforge and the materials to do the necesarry steps from the T0.5 quest to upgrade them to Soulforge.

And I have the materials saved up for the epic mount quest, for anyone else that wants that shopping list, you want to get yourself:

- 6 Arcanite Bars
- 5 Dark Runes
- 40 Runecloth
- 10 Sungrass
- 1 Azerothian Diamond
- 1 Pristine Black Diamond

My Paladin has a steady progression of blue armour and weapons prepared for him on his way to 60, with a Nightfall and Sageblade (no shield yet, but Jagged Obsidian is the goal) ready to enter Outland for the first time.

Is it certain that the epic mount quest for Blood Elves is the same as for Alliance paladins? If so.. looks like I have a little more to invest in.

It's slightly different. Instead of Dark Runes and Sungrass Alliance Paladins want Stratholme Holy Water and Arthas Tears.

My source is here: http://beta.worldofwarcraft.com/thre...915946&sid=1#0 (Contains some spoilers in regards to more details on the quest)

The primary Druid trainer I used while leveling up was the one in Moonglade. Much easier to Teleport: Moonglade, train, then hearth.

As far as prepwork for my Shaman alt will go, I have a blue 2-hander at 20 and one at 30. At 42 I get double Flurry Axes, which will last me until I hit Outlands content. My main concern is that I won't have a PvP trinket until mid-60s, or maybe even later. 4125 honor is slightly annoying to get.
