It's always been there and it works great for rogues.

The problem for warriors is that if you don't have enough rage, hitting MS or whatever won't start autoattacking either. Macros would work but that seems really, really annoying to set up for every damage ability.

You don't have to, you could use an addon to set a /startattck macro to any group of buttons

eg.

frame:SetAttribute("macrotext", "/startattack")

If I'm not mistaken

See you, auntie.

Interesting, anyone knows of such an addon?

Now, if only Blizzard would implemented some of the Vanguard:SOH style gameplay, with abilities that require you to have both an offensive target and defensive target at the same time...

It'd be pretty awesome, as an example, if Warlocks could get a spell that functioned like Blood Mages in Vanguard, and transfered health straight from the mob onto the designated target.

That's one example, but there are plenty of others, being able to have 2 different targets at once greatly increases the complexity of the spell/combat system, but in a good way.

Abilities like Misdirection and the pally thing that makes the pally take a portion of target's damage indicate that they do consider multitarget effects like that. I doubt they'd make such a large overhaul to the combat system to allow 2 simultaneous targets though. If they put in the Blood Mage spell, they'd probably have it work like Misdirection instead.

I must say that the way they changed macro functionality is quite impressive.

For multi-mob scrumms something like
/cast [target=mouseover,exists] Sunder Armor
might be useful so you can focus your Heroic and Revenges on your current target and sorta move through the others. I had a bit of difficulty with range though unfortunatly with a similar macro, going to require a bit more tweaking I suppose.

Focus is quite interesting as well and the possibilities are quite open which is nice.

If you hold your mouse over where the mob will spawn it will turn into the attack icon as soon as it spawns even before it is visible. You can then click it even before it renders in.

Edit: I don't run in and out of the cubby. I stand just outside, and as soon as I acquire the newly spawning target, I queue a heroic, and mash revenge (it's almost always up once you have a few on you) or sunder at the start. For it to get away, I have to whiff the heroic, the offhand swing, the revenge/sunder, and potentially a followup mainhand swing (I use a very fast mainhand for this).
