--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 2.0.5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The latest patch notes can always be found at
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/...v/implemented/
- Increased the maximum number of realms that can be listed in the Realm List.
- Updated the Terms of Use.
- Created an option to disable UI Acceleration for users of select video cards
experiencing graphical corruption of the User Interface. To use this option,
enter the following line to the Config.wtf file, located in the WTF
subfolder of the game:
Set UIFaster “x”
Where x equals:
0 – This turns off all UI acceleration
1 – For Internal Use Only - DO NOT USE!
2 – Enables partial UI acceleration only.
3 – Enables all UI acceleration.
Example:
Set UIFaster “2”
Note: For users experiencing graphical corruption of the User Interface,
it is recommended to try option 2 in order to correct the problem. If
this does not solve the issue, then use option 0 to disable all UI
Acceleration.

I now receive "unable to validate game version" when trying to connect on both of my installs (one beta-2.0.4, one live-2.0.4, both maintained correctly). Never had any problems like this before.

Yeah, there's been something wrong, nobody can log in for the last hour or two.
I don't know if it's a 2.0.3 issue but we were having drakonids on nef evading and porting tanks. I'm assuming it's because I'm a night elf and it's some sort of hitbox issue with the doorways. After I eventually managed to run out of the doorway despite getting chain ported, everything went back to normal, though there was a pile of 10 drakonids by then.

I'm still showing v2.0.4 on my login screen, and I can't get in either because the server "can't verify the game version" or something along those lines. Blizzard sites are all hammered by traffic so they're no help, obviously.
There's now a little acknowledgment blurb from Blizzard at the login prompt. They're working on it...hooray.

I'm showing 2.0.5 now, just get "Disconnected from Server" almost immediately after typing in my password. Was hoping to get some playtime in before watching the Bears hammer the 'Hawks :o

Not new with 2.0.3. Happens occasionally. Just try to gank the one thats teleporting you and you should get 'freed'.

So, as most people have found out, the adds on Razorgore keep spawning after all the eggs are popped. So in this BWL pug, the adds end up wiping the raid. The adds then proceed to kill Razorgore, and rather than resetting the encounter, he drops his loot and the gate opens. Yay?

Yeah, the gate opens regardless as long as it bugs out apparently, although getting loot from Razor seems somewhat random. That being said, the encounter worked perfectly for us in our two last BWL clears, last one was this friday I believe.

When we did it, the adds spawned and helped kill Razorgore (assuming nobody attacks them) - took all of 30 seconds for "Phase 2" of Razorgore with 40 Orcs helping beat the crap out of him. After Razorgore died, we had the raid zone out of BWL with a few hunters FD until they despawned (soon as everyone was outside/dead, they reset). Then we zoned back in and looted.
Pity that we aren't planning on running BWL anymore, as that would be fun to keep up. :)

I just attempted to login to live - 2.0.4 client - and it didn't try and update me, and I logged in successfully. It seemed to be working OK.
Maybe they've pulled the patch attempt after the problems.
(I thought I'd put this in this thread after people reported these issues)

Pewsey has heard about tact and discretion, but tends to regard them much as children view vegetables.
Nemesis: "Pewsey is single-handedly turning around every guy in the BB that didn't want to have kids."
Viator: Because I had a baby so I'm better than non-breeders.

2.0.5 seems to have integrated just fine on EU, at least I didn't have problems so far.

I just wonder how Blizzard manages to break various parts of the game with such minimal changes so often.
"Hey, let's make traps more visible!" - Stealth broken.
"Wow, what about more servers in the realmlist?" - Unable to connect.
etc.

Well, the obvious answer is because they're linked. Traps becoming more visible broke stealth because traps are stealthed. Increasing the max number of realms could break things if they failed to change the realm limit somewhere.

Yes, but how in gods name do these things come through the QA.
These are such obvious things that it is hard to believe not to be encountered in internal testings.
That is, if there is enough internal testings, which I cannot believe anymore, seeing the introduction of new bugs with every patch.
Just feels like Microsoft.

Anyone have a link online to a current copy or any discussions that talk about this? I am concerned as some guildmates and friends of mine are from South America. The TOS always said to be elligible you had to be from certain countries, but they never enforced it. Is there new language now indicating they are going to watch people using it outside the intended region more closely?
|
With yesterday's minipatch, there was a change in the TOS. The eligibility section doesn't mention anything about being from certain countries anymore, I'm pretty happy about that :)
