Im not sure if this topic has come up yet and seeing as it has a time table this thread will quickly die.

It comes to no suprise to me that i made a plan of attack on how to tackle BC for the first day and week. Surely I am not alone in this and I am curious on what everyone else plans to do for the first day (or what they have done if they are refering to this post in the past tense)

For me my first day is going to look like this:

-First going to the mining/smithing trainers to increase my cap so i can level up.
For smithing ill be making 10 brilliant leggings to take me to 310 smithing almost immediately once i got my smithing cap raised

-Going to the bandage trainer in Helfire peninsula to level bandages so i can begin making netherweave bandages asap
Im a warrior thusly being highly dependant on bandages while soloing :P

-Go to the pools of Agammarr in hellfire peninsula to start grinding on the demons there for Mote of shadow and when i get bored of that go directly south to grind on the hulking boars for motes of fire.
Im looking to make a dent in my Planar edge mats the first day of BC so ill need 200 motes of shadow and 50 motes of fire by the time im 70. While im doing that ill be gaining exp in the process to ding my first level (which is easier to grind out then say level 68 because of inflated exp values beteen levels)

-By day 3 I am gonna unload my bank full of ores/metals that i accumulated in WoW 1.0 for the jewel crafting crowd.
I saved up tons of ores/metals on my main and on my lowbie alt expressly for this purpose. Money making schemes ftw

So what is everyone else planning?

What, in the game? Playing...

I think the better question is: how are you going to balance the demands of life (viz. eating/sleeping) with the demands of Warcraft and keeping up with the rest of the guild.

I have a cunning plan. The night BC comes out, and the box arrives, I'm going to make a big show of NOT PLAYING in front of my Fiancee.

"Burning Crusade? Ho hum. Contrary to your expectations, I am not so addicted that I can't spend a night with you picking out registry stuff."

THEN, I pour it on. Whenever she isn't home, whenever class is out, and great big gobs of weekend time.

I figure I'm better off earning credit the first night, then spending it the next week, then I am digging myself into a hole the first night, then earning it back with couple-stuff.

I took tomorrow off from work. Some guildies and myself are going to instance grind tonight until late tomorrow. I'll probably pick up the new mining/FA levels for opportunistic grinding. I'm not going to touch BSing till at least 68 when my play time is more of the customary segment. I can grind mobs in between instance runs and such. If I can put myself far enough ahead of the curve in this first push, I should be among the first 10 (unlikely to be in the top 5 actually having a job and sleeping sometimes) in my guild to 70. This will get me into some of the better instance grinding groups for gear/rep and give me more time to prepare for getting back into a raid swing. My guild stopped raiding over a month ago for PVPing grinding, cash farming, and alt play in anticipation of the expansion.

Hah, good thing my b-day is only a week away and I get to use the lame excuse of "This is my birthday present to me though, it's just once a year" on the misses for why I'm playing at 2am on a Monday night. :o

Guess I'll have to put my wishes of a widescreen monitor on the backburner for now :(

It's a good couple weeks to be unemployed.

Although packing my stuff up to put into storage will cut into my leveling time somewhat.

Parking myself outside the Dark Portal before I go get my copy at 12. Jumping through with a bunch of guildies and grabbing that quest for the trinket. And depending on how many people we have online either:

A. Park myself in some instance.
B. Run around and gather all the Limited (1) Alchemy recipes I can find.
C. Hope I can enter my code when I get home and the servers don't implode...

As a final note, any other servers suddenly notice a queue when they've never had one before? Ours started last night (granted not like some servers but a 30 queue is HUGE for us) Our server was created around 9 months ago as a safe haven for a few higher pop servers (Azjol-Nerub was one of them) and we've never had queues.

Going to sit out the first few days, see what the reports of server stability come back as.

I really don't want to get all worked up over what I want to do and then end up frustrated by probable launch problems.

Thrallmar and talk to trainers, Falcon Watch and pick up First Aid, Zangarmarsh to get Swamprat Post flight point, Shrattrath city for flight points (and depending on availability start Scryer rep), then back to Thrallmar to instance to 62 in Ramparts and Blood Furnace.

If anything over the last couple of years has taught me, I know our server will be a bloodbath both getting to and questing in the Outlands. I'm intending to let that die down a bit and more or less exist in the instances with possibly trying to pick up the pre-reqs during quieter times for said instances. Thrallmar rep is required for the Heroic mode instances in Hellfire as well, so multiple running of those instances has an additional needed function as well.

Well I kinda meant what you are gonna do when you actually do sit down and play :P

But ya server stability will be a problem when everyone is bottlenecked in Hellfire penninsula

Little reminder: at least start the quest chain for your bladefists breadth before instancing

Has the start quest changed recently? I know I picked it up early in beta, but they did change a whole lot of quests around during the later stages but did they change the start point of this as well?

Oh sorry, well when I actually sit down and start playing it is going to be instance grinding, maybe all the way to 70 but more likely up till about 68, then finish those two levels in netherstorm/shadowmoon valley for the quest rewards.
