I will hit 70 later tonight, and I'm sure a fair number of you have hit it already.. but chances are the rest of your guild is still leveling
(even though I'm not 70 quiiiite yet, I'll answer my own questions)
How much gear did you replace, and what did you replace? (did you replace what you expected?)
[Master Dragonslayer's Ring] > [Longstrider's Loop]
[Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight] (melee dps exalted... can't seem to find the item id) > [Longstrider's Loop]
[Cloak of the Scourge] > [Delicate Green Poncho]
[Blackhand's Breadth] > [Bladefist's Breadth]
I had expected to replace my [Bloodfang Bracers] as it's t2, but I didn't notice any even relatively close bracers.... perhaps I'm not so lucky. I replaced none of my 2.5 (I still wear helm, chest and boots) and none of my t3 (shoulders, legs, gloves, belt) which I supposed I expected.
What are you doing now you don't have experience to accumulate and are waiting for your raiders to catch up?
I plan to rep up in a few of the more interesting reps and the ones needed for heroics, as it's a quicker grind than before, but I was never much of a rep person myself, so once I can, I'll hit up heroics and stay there.
Does 70 feel like 60 did?
n/a
Did you get the cheap flying mount?
You better believe that's the one I'm getting. :P
If you feel there's another relevant question, post it and I'll edit the op.

On a side note... how do you get the proper dragonflight ring to show up as they're all called the same thing?

Cel you can either type the name of the item in the Item tag, or the Item ID.

I'm going to assume you replaced your ranged weapon with a throwing weapon as well.
Although I'm only 65 those are the upgrades I've made the same upgrades, minus the ring which really only due to me losing the roll on it. Although there is also another ring in sethekk halls that I wouldn't mind grabbing [Ravenclaw Band]
edit: incomplete thought

I was 70 pretty quickly, so I've been doing a lot of instances for rep/keying, etc. My gear coming into the expansion was pretty much the best you could get, with full tier 3/slavemaker and the like, so I haven't upgraded much. I did get [Sonic Spear] from Murmur in Shadow Labs, which will replace my [] once I enchant it. I also got [Dark Cloak of the Marsh] from a Coilfang quest to replace my c'thun cloak, and sadly got outrolled on [Cloak of Impulsiveness] in CoT. I hit revered with Aldor and did the Shattered Halls Kargath quest for [Lightwarden's Band] and [Naliko's Revenge] for PVP rings, but other than that, I'm pretty much wearing all my old gear. Oh, and I have a Riding Crop to replace all my riding gear!

Sorry for the derail, but I thought I'd comment on the fact that rogues and mages are the first to respond here. Are people seeing dps classes as the primary guys to hit 70 first? From the few I've seen on the horde side of 'ganis that seemed to be the case...

Our fastest levellers were all rogues and mages and one warrior. Hunters/locks/rest of the warriors right behind.
I suspect this is largely because we were never ahead of the curve enough for much tier 2 dps gear to trickle down to healers (the warriors did because we got SO MUCH dps plate), and most of us took time off instead of pvping for high warlord gear. I could probably keep up with the hunters if not for spending so much time on my new pally, like one of our priests is, but he and I and one other shaman are really the only ones who managed to get more than one or two pieces of the good DPS gear that did trickle down.
As such, what the level 70s will probably do is be on call constantly to come help their healers burn through elite quests and instances :)

There were 2 Priests, 2 shaman and a Druid in our first 10 (A prot Warrior aswell).
I haven't upgraded any healing gear after a fair few lvl 70 runs. (had mid Naxx gear) [Stupid Kargath]
A lot of my shadow set got upgraded as I leveled but it was all ZG/etc blues anyway.

i've replaced no healing gear so far. i've seen some nice gloves drop, but still not much better then T3 and not worth a 30 healing enchant either. we also foudn 3 different 1h maces that are identical to my KT mace. and a serpentcrest staff. healing weapons are really avaible in a huge abundance. if you have the best pre TBC epics in each slot, it seems you'll find at least almost identical blues now. but nothing worth replacing yet.
for leveling speed we had 5 of our 6 priests hit 70 last weekend while we are still waiting for the first warrior to ding ... and we got 1 druid at least to tank the lvl 70 stuff, but its kinda sad. :)

I've seen a good variety of classes. Pretty much any class can turn into an efficient killing machine with the available specs and gear now

Our first was warrior, priest, mage. Seems to be any type of classes. Not like questing requires heavy dps.
Replaced a few things, no serious upgrades though. Guess it will come with doing more 5-man lvl 70 instances.

First two on Ursin, or close enough to it, were a Druid (H) and Paladin (A) so its not just the DPS classes that are getting there first; heck, I'd be well into 68 now if I didn't take half of yesterday and today off of questing to run instances instead (the guys who rushed to 70 have none of the good instance stuff from what I'm seeing).

I am not your personal Frost Deathknight knowledge base. If you have a simple question, ask in the simple questions thread; if you have a more esoteric, specific, or complicated question, ask in the spec-appropriate thread.
My PM, WoWmail, and, especially, chat boxes are NOT the appropriate places for these questions.

Our first 70 was an alt rogue (now main, I guess) which saw only BWL loot mostly, so it has less to do with gear level than many think. :)

Getting to 70 quickly has far more to do with knowledge of quest locations and hubs and the ability to find/make groups for the group/dungeon quests than killing things quickly - also, having the fortune/foresight to get out of hellfire/zangarmarsh before the crowds came. I was lucky enough to have a copy ready to go at midnight eastern on a PST server, so I was out of the starting zones before many people installed their game.
edit: for spelling and info - first 4 on my server were me, a horde warlock, then 2 alliance rogues.

I'm 3/4 to 69 already and I have not been rushing at all (completing EVERY quest, helping guildies with instance runs, sightseeing, etc). I've also had to work and got it late due to being in Australia.
6 hours a level is more than possible, and those who'd played Beta would push even faster. I'm surprised there aren't more level 70s around. There are only about 10 horde warlocks level 69-70 on my server (or were last night), and with the exception of one or two people they're just from two guilds.
We'll see our first BE 70 in a day or two. Not sure about Shaman on the Draeni side.
So far I have replaced nearly every piece of my gear, bar HWL stuff and some Rank 9 PvP gear. First to go were the rings and trinkets.
Guild fastest are Hunter, Priest, Me. Mostly due to time spent online and desire to level fast, and not the class. Though I have a Rogue friend who has been leveling about as keenly as I, and I've gained about 2 levels on him due to the fact I can grind through mobs for XP and solo stuff with more ease.

Currently 69, most likely going to ding 70 before I go to bed tonight:
[Prestor's Talisman of Connivery] -> [Insignia of the Mag'hari Hero] (or possibly [Choker of Bloodied Feathers] or [Talon Lord's Collar] - haven't quite decided which one is optimal yet).
[Bloodfang Spaulders] -> [Sun-Gilded Shouldercaps]
[Cloak of Concentrated Hatred] -> one of [Cloak of Impulsiveness] or [Delicate Green Poncho] (poncho for pve, cloak for pvp or when i just get sick of looking at the hideousness of the poncho)
[Bloodfang Bracers] -> [Bracers of Finesse] (probably wouldn't have upgraded if it weren't for the fact that the enchanter in the group was desperately wanting to give me a +24AP on bracers enchant when they dropped)
[Bloodfang Belt] -> [Burning Blade Devotee's Cinch] (for stam and +hit mostly)
[Boots of the Shadow Flame] -> [Sure-Step Boots] (for general grinding and pvping, for higher level bosses i switch back to the BotSF for the +hit).
[Master Dragonslayer's Ring] -> [Ravenclaw Band]
[] (was 3k rep away from exalted when our raiding schedule collapsed :() -> []
[Blackhand's Breadth] -> [Bladefist's Breadth]
[High Warlord's Quickblade] -> [Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-blade] (hemo spec currently, so offhand type doesn't mattter, and the [High Warlord's Blade] is an insanely good hemo MH, so i went for the dagger for offhand and potential dagger spec down the line)
[Striker's Mark] -> [Mark V's Throwing Star]
Items I've kept so far have been my WL chest and gloves (mostly because they're high-crit, and for the 2pc set bonus), my zg-enchanted [Deathdealer's Helm], my ZG-enchanted [Bloodfang Pants], my [Drake Fang Talisman], and the aforementioned HWL blade.
edit: and on the subject of who gets to 70 first, so far we've got two druids, a warrior, a shaman, and a mage, with me and a hunter on 69, and two warriors, a priest, and a warlock on 68.

From Dragonblight:
1) Blackrhino <The OCK> (rogue) (H) - 1/19/06
2) Coolcat <Exigence> (mage) (A) - 1/19/06
3) Ceidwad (druid) (A) - 1/20/06
4) Xenode <Exigence> (rogue) (A) - 1/20/06
5) Zidius <Unified> (warlock) (H) - 1/20/06
6) Magedd < Redemption > (rogue) (A) - 1/20/06
7) Rodis < Redemption > (druid) (A) - 1/20/06
8) Zorhk <The OCK> (rogue) (H) - 1/20/06
9) Cherrydanish <Exodus> (rogue) (A) - 1/20/06
10) Fataleyes <Exodus> (warrior) (A) - 1/20/06
In our guild it was a Hunter (who took 2 weeks off!), Druid, Warrior, Mage and I think Warlock.

Well we had 3 mages hitting 70 first, followed by a priest and a hunter. All of them in Naxx guilds.
To continue on the subject I bascily replaced all of my DPS gear that I collected from MC/BWL or blue items. I replaced most in Hellfire already. The only DPS item I still have are [Bracers of Arcane Accuracy] simply because I didn't found a better one yet.
During leveling I didn't paid much attention to healing gear and the only things I replaced there is the Friendly Brood of Nozdormu with a greenie :). As being a healing priest I assumed that my healing gear would last a bit longer than my DPS gear, which is proving to be right so far. My healing gear is built up from a few Tier 2 pieces with non-set cloth/misc from BWL and AQ40.
Right now I'm level 66 only though. So I'll check back at 70.

I'm only 65 and I've already replaced about two thirds of my damage gear, and I had a good mix of BWL and PVP epic +dmg gear. The only real peices I see myself keeping until 70 are my offhand (simply because itemization from 60-70 is very lacking, although there are alot of choices at or near 70), and my Lok'amir.
So far, first in my guild have been a rogue, followed by a druid, with a rogue, pally, and warlock very close to 70 (likely ding tomorrow). My guild, however, isn't an extreme hardcore guild so a majority of us are still in the mid-low 60's.
I've been taking my time, personally, running each instance multiple times and doing all the quests in a zone (at aside from the extremely annoying ones-damn you eel fillets!) before moving on. I've also played a shammy for a bit to try out the new zones. It's really fun and a great change of pace from the raid grind, so I'm in no hurry to get to 70.

We had a Hunter as the first 70 and a mix of classes just behind at 69. Primarily this is the group that was grinding instances together but didn't spend quite as many hours at it as the hunter in question. When I say grinding instances, the first 70 we had still hasn't finished up his terokkar quests for clarity. Some people went more the solo route and indeed there I would say the dps classes are doing so faster, especially our warlock army that likes to enslave anything they see.
I'm still 69 and have replaced about half my gear, although not really with any massive upgrades to be honest. I did respec frost for the run so I had to ditch some gear right off the bat and drop down to slightly less optimal stuff. Pants, helm and weapon are all lagging due to a lack of forethought on the enchants/threads front and general apathy on my part. I'd link it up but sheesh, I can't remember the names of a lot of it. I'll try to get back to you on that later perhaps.
